Christians Should Not be Afraid of Death

What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.” Psalms 89:48

Everyone dies. Everyone has to face his or her mortality. However, as Christians, we are not to fear death. God has promised His children a resurrection. Our deaths are not really death at all, but a transition into eternal life with Him.

Some verses concerning death for a Christian , the resurrection, and eternal life promised to us:

Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Luke 20:36

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, Who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: II Timothy 1:9-10

But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for He shall receive me. Selah. Psalm 49:15

Knowing that He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. II Corinthians 4:14

And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:40

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:8

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. I Thessalonians 4:13

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. I Corinthians 15:54

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25

And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:26

Do you believe this? If you don’t, please…email me and I’ll tell you how you can know for sure that you have eternal life.
