Thoughts on the Coming Anti-Christ
Scripture gives us some very specific detail about the Anti-Christ who will rule during the Tribulation, but there are some details about which theologians have differing opinions. I also have some thoughts of my own based on Scripture not always referred to when this subject is discussed.
First of all, we know that the Anti-Christ will implement a 7-year peace treaty with Israel and her enemies which will temporarily halt war in the Middle East and appear to have solved this decades-long war and end the bloodshed. We know from Scripture that this peace will not last.
Some think the Anti-Christ will be a Gentile, since Revelation Chapter 13 says he will rise from the sea, and the sea generally represents Gentile nations in Scripture. Others think he will be Jewish because Daniel chapter 11 says he will reject the God of his fathers. I personally think he will be a Gentile, as rejecting the God of his fathers could mean our Christian God. Also, he apparently rises out of the Revised Roman Empire (Rev. 13:1-2), or what we call today the European Union. (It’s interesting to note that the European Union began in the 1940s as the European Common Market with the same 3 nations that began the original Roman Empire.)
He will be a mighty Military Ruler.
He will mostly likely be very intelligent, a statesman, and a charismatic personality. He’ll promote “love”, “peace”, “tolerance”, and “unity”.
The Anti-Christ will appear to be mortally wounded, and then appear to rise from the dead.
Mid way through the Tribulation, he will declare himself to be God.
The second half of the Tribulation, he will set out to destroy all Christians. I am a believer in a Pre-Trib rapture, but I also know that the Bible says many multitudes will be saved during the Tribulation. These Christians will almost all be martyred for their faith.
Now for some of my personal thoughts on the subject.
I think the Anti-Christ will be openly homosexual. Why?
How does God frequently describe the relationship between Him and His people? He uses the holiness of the marriage relationship. (Isaiah 61:10, John 3:29, Ephesians 5:23, Ephesians 5:25, the Book of Solomon, the book of Hosea, Isaiah 54:5, Jeremiah 3:20, Jeremiah 31:32 and many many others). And what is the biggest spit in God’s eye concerning marriage? Homosexual unions. They go against everything that Christianity stands for, and pervert the idea of a holy covenant between God and His people.
Daniel 11:37 says about the coming Anti-Christ:
"Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all."
That is why I think we are seeing such an explosion of homosexual militancy – as Satan prepares the world to accept and even to embrace this lifestyle to the point that when the Anti-Christ steps in, he will be loved, admired and praised by the tolerant and accepting multitudes. He will be the ultimate insult to our God and Saviour Jesus Christ. But his reign will be temporary and then he will spend his eternity in the Lake of Fire, thrown in by a single angel through the power of our Holy and Just God.
Scripture References:
Isaiah 61:10 "I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels."
John 3:29 "He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled."
Ephesians 5:23 "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body."
Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;"
Isaiah 54:5 "For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called."
Jeremiah 3:20 "Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD."
Jeremiah 31:32"Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:"

I'd never really thought of it like that, but it makes a lot of sense! Can't wait to run that one by the hubby, and see his thoughts on it!
Miss ya!
Personally I think that most of the evidence points to the Rapture occuring somewhere around 4306 AD. After all, what is another 2300 years?
It has already been almost 200 and the universe was around a lot, lot longer than that!
Super interesting blog. Wonderin' if you all have ever gone on over to Google and typed in "Thomas Ice (Bloopers)," "Pretrib Rapture Diehards," or "Famous Rapture Watchers." And "Deceiving and Being Deceived" (the latter half is best) by MacPherson is good also. Lord bless. (I'm looking for Him also.) Bruce

Sarcasm aside, you are entitled to believe what you will. Mine is not a site for debate. However, I'll bet my friend over at http://pocketmumbles.blogspot.com/ wouldn't mind a little friendly exchange

Thanks for the words of encouragement. And I will check out your suggestions.
Bruce, after visiting a few of your suggested sites, it seems to indicate that you are not a pre-tribber. You are entitled to believe what you will, but Mr. MacPherson's ideas have no effect on my beliefs, as mine are based on Scripture, which I believe is the inerrant, infallible, "theopneustos" (God Breathed - II Timothy 3:16) Word of God. There are many online sites "for" and "against" and one must pray, study the Word (II Timothy 2:15) , and ask for the Holy Spirit's guidance when seeking the truth.
I might write a post sometime about what the Bible says about the end times, especially about the pre-trib rapture. My writing time is limited, but I'll put that on my list of "to write about".
