Joel Olsteen - Another False Teacher/Preacher
I've never been a fan of Joel Olsteen. I believe he is a false teacher with a false Gospel. He just reaffirmed this to me in his recent interview with Chris Wallace when he had these things to say about Mitt Romney and Mormonism:
"Mitt Romney has said that he believes in Christ as his Savior, and that's what I believe. I'm not the one to judge the little details of [Romney's religion], so I believe [Mormons are Christians]..."
Then shortly after, when asked another question about Mormonism, Osteen said he did not know enough about the religion's beliefs to comment.
A man who professes to be a preacher of God's Word, who accepts Mormonism as Christian, and then in the next breath says he doesn't know enough about the religion to comment, is a false teacher and shouldn't be preaching.
Full story here.
And in case the reader questions whether Mormonism is equal to Christianity, I suggest reading Are Mormons Christians?

Thanks, Ms. Green, I hadn't seen that quote. I was already thinking of posting again on Osteen. He is too wide (his sermons could be preached at churches, mosques, mormon temples and synagogues without offense) and too narrow (his prosperity gospel would make no sense to most of the world). He is also ignorant for saying the Romney is a Christian (if he doesn't know he's wrong) or wimpy & duplicitous (if he does know he's wrong).
Amen Ms. Green,
I have never believed Ostreen knew anything about the true Gospel -- and on the Wallace show, he proved it.
What a shame that he has so many (Thousands) followers who blindly follow this false prophet.
Keep up the good work!

And, I am smiling here. Hate to comment - but this preciely proves my point. Once the blind faith steps in, logic and reasoning will never return!
I feel sad thinking about the type of messages that are being "preached" and the willingness of followers to give money to promote them, while so much could be done to send the True message of salvation with those funds. I cannot understand how the recipients of those funds can with good conscience live so affluently, knowing of the lost masses and the hungry of the world that could be feed and cared for with the funds that purchase 2 or 3 luxury homes and cars for themselves. I guess the itching ears of followers desires to hear what makes them feel good instead of the the Truth.
"the little details"
What a nice way to avoid discussing serious theological issues that he lacks the knowledge to discuss.
