Bailout for Some, Opportunity for Others

There is always so much more to anything than meets the eye. Everyone is pointing fingers as the result of the housing crash, but as they point their fingers at others, there are fingers pointing back at them. Yes, there is plenty of guilt to spread around.

Meanwhile there are those that will actually benefit greatly from this bailout.

One major law firm announced last Thursday that “it has formed a multi-disciplinary Task Force to guide financial institutions, private investment funds, institutional investors and other market participants through the legislative, regulatory and enforcement challenges posed by the Troubled Asset Relief Act and other impending actions by Congress, the Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve and the SEC.”

The name of the law firm? Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, of whom former mayor and presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani is a partner.

No doubt millions will be made.

You see, the rich will always get richer.

More power to them. I admire the rich. They worked hard to get rich, and if they were born into wealth, they work hard to stay rich. They are smart enough to figure out ways to capitilize on a given situation. And, they take risks. Real risks. The kind of risks ordinary people like me are afraid to take. You have to admire that. I would be a business owner now if I had the guts to take risks.

Exactly, Mark. Socialism promises redistribution of wealth, and greed is one of the reasons some are voting for BHO. But the truth is there will always be rich folks and there will always be poor folks. It's the middle class that faces extinction if a Marxist-Socialist like BHO is elected. And the poor will still be poor and the rich will still be rich. This story is a perfect example.

The bail-out plan was not an honest attempt to help the nation. it was an attempt by powerful to protect eachother.

Help me understand - If a corporation makes bad choices and ends up in huge debt, they will go down. Why are we bailing out? How is it different from a family/person making bad choices and ending up bankrupt?

No bad model can survive in a good system. As a conservative, I am extremely dissappointed to see President and 33% of republicans voted for it to show their 'loyality'! On the other hand, I am very proud that 66% of republicans rejected it without making any compromises. I still have hopes on conservatism.
