The Look of Joy that only HE can give

During our service, while all of our heads were bowed in prayer, Brother John asked if there was anyone in the service today that didn’t know for sure if they would go to heaven when they died. He asked, with all heads still bowed, if those individuals would raise their hands – not so that anyone could embarrass them by coming to them, or naming them, or approaching them in any way, but so that he could pray for them, and that God would move in their hearts to help them make a decision on trusting Christ for their salvation.

At the end of the service, people were leaving out for the afternoon. One of our older members who happened to be at the back of the church opening up the doors for the end of the service, had seen one young man sitting up about midway in the congregation raise his hand earlier. Following the Spirit’s lead, he approached the young man and pulled him aside, touching his shoulder. “Son,” said the old man, “are you saved?”

The young man said, “no sir, I’m not.”

“Don’t you want to be?” said the old man.

The young man shook his head yes.

“Then go down there and talk to that preacher. Don’t wait.”

The encouragement of the Holy Spirit.

This believer hasn’t stopped grinnin’ and worshipping since she left church today.

"Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:20

I'm not sure if I'd ever explicitly thought about that before, but looking back I know exactly what you mean. I think my non-Christian co-workers are starting to realize that I and the other Christian in my office of 8 are serious when we say that our joy comes from the Lord.

It truly is contagious.
