New Orleans before Gustav

For anyone who has ever been to New Orleans, this video will be a surreal, almost disturbing video.

Never have seen it this quiet. And I've seen it many times.

New Oreans Goes Quiet

There has been a huge influx of people coming into my city from the south, fleeing the incoming Gustav. I wonder if there is a little reluctance this time about opening churches, camps, and other facilities to any and all who ask. I know of multiple churches and camps that opened their doors to N. O. people during Katrina, as an act of charity and Christian love toward those in need. How was their kindness repaid? Most had to completely gut their facilites afterwards - urine and feces on the walls and floors, vandelism, and theft. Not to mention that there were multiple incidences of drug and alchohol usage, loud offensive music, and open sexual activity in front of other refugees.

New Orleans has for many years been a toilet, and every once in a while, it gets flushed.

Interesting side note:

Gustav means "staff of the Goths". The Goths were a nomadic Germanic people that overran the Roman Empire in the early centuries of the Christian era.

What do you expect from hiphop community?

I don't think it's so much "hiphop" as you put it - it's actually the product of liberal give away programs and entitlements. When you get everything for nothing, you think you can do anything you want to do whenever you want to do it.

If it's liberal thing, then all those non-hiphop liberals should behave the same way, right?

Let's be honest here. There are certain cultures that goes along with certain sections of our society. It doesn't matter whether you are conservative or liberal - you would be part of your culture.

Best recent example is Sarah Palin's daughter. It doesn't really matter how conservative you talk or behave - the culture will influence your judgement. The culture of pre-marital sex, alcohol and "kids-out-of-wedlock" swallowed her.

Same thing with hiphop section. It glorifies bad-boy behavior, violence and iresponsible lifestyle. Those are the root causes.

Too bad? You bet.

The culture you are referring to is the result of liberalism. Give away programs have created a culture of slackers who think the world owes them. They are self absorbed and self gratifying.

Being in Alaska, I doubt the culture got to Palin's daughter. More than likely it was hormones and poor judgement. Her mom has been an excellent example and I have no doubt her parents have raised her better, but, like many other kids, she made a mistake. Short term pleasure took priority over possible long term consequences. I wish her and the baby's father well. I pray they seek God's guidance, repent, and make things right. God can turn anybody's life around if they're willing to submit to Him.

Dear Green,

I think you missed my point.
If you raise your kids right, they will know better. I never dared to do drugs (any substance abuse) or engage in pre-marital sex. It was taught to us from day-1 by my parents.

In this case, I clearly see it as a failure of parenting. When you have a teenage daughter, you take extra steps to remind her what can go wrong. Also, you will keep a strict watch on time she spends with boys. What kind of mom will turn a blind eye?

Well, you get my point. You can't just blame liberalism for this. Unfortunately, as a society, we (european race) have accepted pre-marital sex, substance abuse, kids of wedlock etc as 'common' things!! There is no sense of embarrassment either.

Future certainly look bleak for us.
