Double Standard - Who are the Real Haters?

This happened in Lansing Michigan on November 9th:

This happened in San Francisco shortly after:

Hundreds of homosexual activists rushed out of bars and swarmed a group of Christians who were singing songs in San Francisco's Castro District – and some even threatened to kill the worshippers.

A group of Christians had been singing and praying in the "gay" district for several days, but they never expected an angry mob would run them out. However, that's what happened Friday night.

One woman who was attacked told her story with Pastor Lou Engle at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. She said the group's fellowship had been peaceful for several nights before the riot.

"People would come stand with us and join us," she said. "We got to pray for some people."

But then angry men began yelling profanities and warning the Christians to leave the district.

Here is the full story.

Here's a video taken of the event...(warning - profanity used on several occasions)

Notice what one of the homosexuals said - "this is our neighborhood".

Oh, really? Whose church was it in Michigan? Isn't there a difference between being in a public place on a public street and peacefully exercising your First Amendment Rights and in disrupting a church service?

When is the last time you saw violent, profanity-spewing Christians chasing after homosexuals and screaming at them? You haven't, and you won't.

Don't EVEN mention Fred Phelps and his ilk. They are NOT Christians.

Yet, the lie continues that Christians are haters.

It is amazing that the hate label sticks to us when we actually take a live and let live approach to gays. We just don't like it when they shove their agenda down our throats.

If you want to disarm the liberals, just point out that if homosexuality could be detected in utero that you would be against those abortions, and ask them if they would agree to make those abortions illegal.

I have yet to find a heterosexual who doesn't love abortion rights more than gays. So this argument is a great way to make them squirm and to point out how ridiculous it is for them to label you as a homophobe. After all, they think it should be legal to destroy gays in the womb (even hypothetically) while you think they should be protected.

The most I've ever seen them say in response is that I'm against all abortions, so specific protections for gays isn't meaningful. But I point out that if this was the only restriction made that I'd favor it.

It also forces them to reconsider their pro-abortion views, because it points out how the unborn are real human beings. That is one reason they fight any exceptions, even for gender selection abortions. They know that once you concede the humanity of the unborn for any reason then other abortions wouldn't be justified.

Excellent point about homosexuals and abortion. And by the way, I have followed your comments not only on your blog, but on others - and I see you accused of being a hater often. Don't let it get to you. You are anything but a hater. You put up with a lot more insults and general "crud" from others than I will. I have a low tolerance for agitators on my blog. I'm happy to discuss and debate differences, but the personal insults and attacks are not tolerated around here. (and I get my share of them).

Standing for your faith does not make you a hater. The real haters are those that reject God and His authority. Sad, too, since He ultimately has more love to give than any of us could ever imagine.

Ms Green, and Neil, You both have special gifts of communicating the light of Gods truth in this vile and evil times we live in. Christian blogs may be the only source of opportunity for some to engage in debate or ask theological questions that pierce the hearts of those who are lost. Certainly this requires patience, persistence and determination of which God has graciously blessed both of you with abundance. Thats why he wants you both to keep up the battle. The harvest is white. God Bless, Herm

Herm, are you sure your real name isn't Barnabus?

You are the ultimate encourager.

Thanks to you both! Even though God + 1 = a majority, it is reassuring to know there are like minds out there.

Neil has been very helpful at my blog recently and I thank him for it. I don't think I've ever had an actual homosexual visit my blog. Alan might have in my early days, but I'm not sure. (Don't feel like lookin') I welcome them as I would anyone, but so far, only enablers.

Your second clip just amazes me. If only we could wind back the clock to about 1960 and start over. Now, our national moral laziness has led to episodes as depicted in the clip. Can you imagine if this was the mid 60's? I think even most hippies would be pelting them with rocks and bottles. It's a sad time for our country that such degredation has matasticized as it has. It may be beyond correction. And now their hatred is unleashed as they whine about their loss in November. I believe I am going to take the postition that I will not be the Christian that those people in Michigan were. Someone must stand up to their bullying and hate. They are now terrorizing.
