The Second Amendment
I've seen this video before, but it's been years. Everyone who thinks gun control is a good idea needs to watch this. My thanks to Ex-preacher man for sending this to me - I'd forgotten about it.
The most important thing she said (and I'm paraphrasing) was that the Second Amendment is not about duck hunting or recreational shooting. It's about protecting ourselves not only from criminals, but from a tyrannical government.

Ms.Green, that is a heart breaking account. It and numerous similar accounts over the years have not deterred the liberals from wanting to disarm the honest and law abiding folks though. They consider such incidents as acceptable collateral damage in order to establish total gun control. They prefer to live in the fantasy that removal of all fire arms will alleviate society of all crime. These are the same people that believe that its totally acceptable to take the life of an unborn child as long as it provides the mother her rights. What a ridiculous double standard. Don't get me started on this. It makes my blood boil. God Bless, Herm
That's a powerful, powerful video. She has the right idea about owning a gun, protecting yourself and your loved ones. But I'm not quite sure I understand her last statement, about owning a gun to protect oneself from elected leaders. Is she implying that if she had a gun she'd shoot them for over-legislation/regulation?
CC, I think she was obviously alluding to the possibility of a government overstepping its bounds and trying to "rule over" the people. She was not referring to individuals that she disagrees with on issues.
She doesn't come across as an irrational individual, but as a very rational, independent, freedom loving individual.
Right, that's why I found her testimony so impressive. It was only that last comment that caused me to wonder what she might be alluding to, and wishing the video hadn't cut out at that point so that she could elaborate. All in all, I think I was as impressed with her as yourself. Like I said, that's pretty powerful.
Thanks for stopping by, CC.
Ms.Green and Clean Cut, I picked up on the comment also. I wondered if it had a "subliminal" hidden nuance to it.She seemed to pick her wording well. What a horrific ordeal for her to go through. Loosing both her parents like that must have left such deep scars on her soul. I so hope she has recovered and been able to go on with her life. God Bless, Herm
Ms. Green,
Her experience was traumatic, her story was difficult to tell but powerful and her delivery was impeccable.
I'd like to have two of her as my neighbor.
In Christ eternally,
ExP(Jack)
Amen, bro. Jack! Isn't plain common sense refreshing? God Bless!
And God Bless you as well, Ms. Green!
The 2nd indeed provides for protection against government tyranny. That's the meaning of the woman's last statements. The mere taking of our means of self-defense is a step toward that tyranny. Is it likely? Perhaps not. But the right exists anyway and it goes beyond any Constitutional mandate for the government to leave us defenseless.
An absolutely awesome video. The woman was very much in control of herself, even with the rehashing of the deaths of her parents, and the only question remaining afterwards was how many of the legislators were touched by her story enough to understand the point.
For those who don't understand her last comment, I suggest you read the Declaration of Independence... especially the middle part about the rights of the people to abolish a tyrannical government.
Kevin, thank you. I hadn't thought about mentioning the Constitution itself. For those of us who actually still care about it, that is...
