Serving the Chosen One

I pledge...to keep my sanity during the years to come as the liberal do-gooders and hollywood types have their tingly-touchy-feely attacks while they "serve" their president.

So where were these people when previous administrations were in power? Why haven't they been doing these things all along? Have they been "saved" by their "messiah" (Obama) and been "born again". Last time I checked, it was the President who served the people of this nation - not the other way around.

Why no pledges to abort as many children as possible?
Why no pledges to welcome terrorists with open arms?
Why no pledges to further deteriorate the sanctity of marriage?
Why no pledges to give all their money away to the poor?
Why no pledges to try to further weaken our military?

But by golly, they're gonna save the planet now. Now that the Chosen One is in charge.

Scary stuff it is.

Whoa! Very creepy.

I pledge to fight all their awful ideas and to keep sharing the Gospel with a world that desperately needs it.

I pledge to have a barf bag nearby the next time I dare watch such an insipid piece of tripe again.

As suggested, this would sound a lot more credible if these touchy-feely sentiments were not only spouted over the course of the last decade or more, but also left behind evidence that it was more than talk.

Well, the simple answer is because that’s not what they believe in. It’s just a boogyman you’ve invented in your mind.

And while we’re on the subject, I find all this talk about Obama being a messiah to be ludicrous projection. Liberals aren’t the ones who mix religion and politics, that’s the right wing’s bugaboo. They just don’t want a born rich cynical frat-boy who can’t do anything right as our leader because he mouths a few useless platitudes about God. We want somebody who is obviously smart and competent, who can make a few good decisions, and who won’t debase his stewardship of the nation by wrecking the economy, lying to start useless and costly wars with no aim except to fill the pockets of other rich incompetents, and who won’t be as evil as our enemies, or tap our phones and read our emails, or disregard the constitution of this great nation for his own political gain. You had your chance and your standard bearer turned out to be a miserable failure at EVERYTHING. Yet you’re still fixated on how much better you are than the other side.

After getting you way and wrecking everything it’s about time for a little humility. Or even reality.

If that is true, then let me reverse my questions.

Why no pledge to help women find alternatives to abortion?
Why no pledge to support the war on terror?
Why no pledge to support marriage as between one man and one woman?
Why no pledge to help the poor receive the education and skills they need to become productive members of society so that they won't have to depend on government?
Why no pledge to support our military?

Why? Because, in your words - Well, the simple answer is because that’s not what they believe in.

I'll be the first to tell you that McCain was not the cure-all to what ails the country. However, the economic wreck we're experiencing was caused in great part by the Fannie Mae - Freddie Mac scandal, of which the chief players are all leading Democrats - including Mr. Obama himself.

Mr. Bush lied about nothing. The war against terror was supported by both sides of the aisle - and they were both privy to the same intelligence information that the president was privy to.

To say that Bush is as evil as our enemies is ludicrous.

Disregard of the Constitution? What about the right to life? It's in there - along with liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Mr. Obama has already stated some of his ideas about the Constitution and he in no way shows any reverence for it whatsoever.

As for your denial that Obama is being followed as though he were a Messiah, I find it hard to understand that you don't see the blind faith and unrealistic expectations the liberals have placed upon him. Their hatred for Bush has blinded them. Change is NOT always a good thing just for the sake of change.

If someone is about to be hanged from a tree until dead and someone else interrupts it to say, "we need a change" and then hands the executioner another rope, that hasn't been much help to one being hanged, has it?

Obama is just another rope. A stronger one - that won't break as easily. As a nation, we're all hanged.

Oh, and I pledge to call for his impeachment and removal from office. He has already violated his oath of office by endangering the people of this country, including pre-born babies, and by making a veiled threat to censor free speech. Details at my place. I've been on a roll lately.

“Why no pledge to help women find alternatives to abortion?”

Like contraception or RU486? You oppose those as well. You’d rather teenagers get STDs that know about condoms.

“Why no pledge to support the war on terror?”

Obama had a Pakistani terrorist camp bombed on his third day. This is just what I said to start with, more of your imagination, not reality.

“Why no pledge to support marriage as between one man and one woman?”

Because they don’t think anyone should be excluded from equal rights. It’s you guys who think you should be able to tell everybody else what to do.

“Why no pledge to help the poor receive the education and skills they need to become productive members of society so that they won't have to depend on government?”

If you’re worried about welfare you shouldn’t have supported a president that wrecked the economy and put so many people out of work. And training? Fundamentalists are the ones who hate knowledge, not liberals. Read Chris Mooney’s THE WAR ON SCIENCE. Scientific innovation is the chief driver of economic growth.

“Why no pledge to support our military?”

Oh, give me a break. They wouldn’t need so much support if your guy hadn’t gotten the legs blown off so many of them. THIRTY THOUSAND YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN wounded and almost FIVE THOUSAND killed. And for what? Tell me, I’d really like to hear what this bogus war did that was worth killing more people that 9-11 and crippling ten times that many.

More rhetoric divorced from reality.

“Why? Because, in your words - Well, the simple answer is because that’s not what they believe in.”

No, in my words- it’s a bogeyman you’ve invented in your mind. Frankly I thought that people like you and your readers were a bogeyman invented by the liberal media. I admit I was wrong.

“I'll be the first to tell you that McCain was not the cure-all to what ails the country. However, the economic wreck we're experiencing was caused in great part by the Fannie Mae - Freddie Mac scandal, of which the chief players are all leading Democrats - including Mr. Obama himself.”

Yeah, eight years of Bush deregulation wasn’t the problem- Obama getting there just in time for it to fall apart was. Even you can’t really believe that. Credit default swaps total 60 trillion dollars- four times the GNP of the entire US in a year. Bush sat idly by while the financial people in this country printed money that we will all have to pay back. More than sat by, encouraged them by making sure that they knew that neither the president nor the congress would interfere! And then gave them a trillion more dollars for robbing us.

“Mr. Bush lied about nothing. The war against terror was supported by both sides of the aisle - and they were both privy to the same intelligence information that the president was privy to.”

Nothing? NOTHING? Bwah-ha-ha-ha! Yup. Bush didn’t lie, he just had Dick Cheney go into the CIA to cook the intelligence and the result was that more people quit than had ever quit before in the history of the agency. And Colin Powell simply refused to say the lies to the United Nations that they had written for him. Yeah. Bush lied. He lied about WMD, torture, wiretaps, compassionate conservatism, nation building, and probably every other time his mouth was open. Yeah. Bush was a consistent liar. And the only defense you have is that the democrats didn’t stop him. I wish they had too, but they were too afraid of people like you. Bush lied about EVERYTHING. But lying isn’t a sin, is it?

Oh, wait. Yeah, it is.

“To say that Bush is as evil as our enemies is ludicrous.”

Bush got more Americans killed during his term than the terrorists managed to. Plus he endangered the constitution, ruined our reputation, and spent all our money. No terrorist could have done those things. You want to talk about messianic thinking- doing anything but acknowledging Bush did more damage to this country than the terrorists did is what’s ludicrous. Obama isn’t the messiah. But after seeing what an idiot your representative has been I’m sure he must seem that way to a lot of people. Anything would seem like a redeemer compared to that lying frat-boy moron you elected.

“Mr. Obama has already stated some of his ideas about the Constitution and he in no way shows any reverence for it whatsoever.”

Yeah, ignore what Bush did and worry about what Obama “might” do. And you wonder why so many people in the country think the fundamentalist right wing is dangerously crazy.

“As for your denial that Obama is being followed as though he were a Messiah, I find it hard to understand that you don't see the blind faith and unrealistic expectations the liberals have placed upon him. Their hatred for Bush has blinded them. Change is NOT always a good thing just for the sake of change.”

No, you guys are the messiah crowd. And I don’t even want to get into all the things you must find hard to understand. Yeah, liberals expect Obama to try to get us out of the hole Bush dug. It IS probably unrealistic. But what else is there to do, hope he’s as big a screw up as your boy was?

“If someone is about to be hanged from a tree until dead and someone else interrupts it to say, "we need a change" and then hands the executioner another rope, that hasn't been much help to one being hanged, has it? Obama is just another rope. A stronger one - that won't break as easily. As a nation, we're all hanged.”

Yeah, blame the rope. That makes a lot of sense.

Look, you’d have more credibility if you’d admit that we did it your way for eight years and it was a DISASTER. But no, you still want to tell everybody else what to do even though your boy was an utter failure. It’s just like you continue to support the party of the rich plutocrats in spite of the fact that they raped you and you have nothing to show for it (No prayer in schools, no anti-abortion amendment, no flag burning legislation, no nothing except a lot of debt for all those unborn children you spend so much time worrying about). Congratulations.

If we’re lucky we’ll never let your people be in charge again.

I'm dealing with two "Anonymous" posters here. One is being allowed to post (at least for the time being). The other (from Cookville TN) was banned from my blog months ago. This message is to anonymous from Cookville TN.

You are not welcome here. Don't waste your time. As soon as I see your vitriol I delete it. Take your hate somewhere else.

Well, for the anon that still gets to rant: Hey pal, your aluminum foil hat is a bit too tight.

Bush did NOT sit back nor did he deregulate anything in the financial industry. He made repeated attempts to warn of the likely problems with Fannie and Freddie (as did McCain) that were mocked and dismissed by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, to name just two. They called him a fear monger and alarmist on that, too.

Those names were applied for his actions in defending against terrorism and were just as inappropriate.

Bush did nothing to harm the Constitution, unless you're aware of something that law enforcement is unaware.

The problem here is that you are still realing from your acute BDS and are incapable of doing more than spouting tired and baseless accusations against a guy who worked from a position of service, and not some make-believe self-serving cartoon from your fevered imaginings. Talk about creating bogeymen! There are things for which Bush can be justly criticized. Through all your blatherings, you haven't hit one yet. Here's a tip: take your meds like you're supposed to and try to deal with reality.

"Look, you’d have more credibility if you’d admit that we did it your way for eight years and it was a DISASTER.

Actually, it wasn't done "my" way. My way would have been
less government
more personal responsibility
fewer abortions
more personal responsibility
less welfare
more mandatory work for able bodied individuals (you don't work, you don't eat)
less gun control
more stringent punishment for crime
less taxes
less regulations on small business
a stronger and more efficient and better equipped military
quicker retaliation against terrorism (don't hold them forever - once they've been proven to be an enemy of the state, execute them)
stronger border control
less retriction on Christianity in the public venue
an end to this "homosexual rights" nonsense when it concerns marriage - choose that lifestyle if you wish, but quit seeking to force acceptance of it
a return to basic education in the public schools (reading, writing, arithmatic, instead of social indoctrination)
a return to servanthood by politicians instead of monarchal status
a return to respect of and adherence to our Constitution

The list goes on - but you get the idea.

Obama will take us further away from these ideals, not closer. They are my ideals, they are what I believe in and long for in this country.I don't apologize for them, and will continue to espouse them and encourage them.

Ms.Green, WELL STATED!!
Unless these responsibilities and freedoms you've listed are re-established, our nations future will continue to deteriorate. Liberals, who embrace Socialism will not be fully satisfied until the foundations of freedom are destroyed. ANON'S not blind. He's aware and apparently agreeable with Obama's Socialistic agenda. Thats how liberals think. "Let the government provide for me, decide what is moral or good, and determine my future. All thats REQUIRED of me is to serve and be obedient to what ever I'm directed or required to do. The Government is always right." Thats the Socialistic mindset!
Once the masses are under control, The slide into Marxism and Totalitarian Government is made easy. Thats how Hitler rose to power.
I highly recommend a book by Hilmar von Campe, "DEFEATING THE TOTALITARIAN LIE". He was a Hitler youth, and also fought with the Germans against the Allies. He tells a remarkable story of how Hitler rose to power, and how the German people were deceived and convinced thru propaganda that it was necessary and needed to remove the Capitalistic Jews from their midst and the Germans subsequent slide into Socialism and Marxism. The author goes to great lengths to warn America about the parallels and similarities he sees of Nazi Germany and whats happening in America today. Its not only possible, but inevitable if we continue in this slide toward Socialism and mindless obedience to its cause. God Bless, Herm
