Baring Arms and Media Irresponsibility - an Invitation to Readerss

In my previous post on the 2nd amendment, Mark from Casting Pearls Before Swine threw a little humor into the equation. (very little...but humor just the same).

For those not following the comments on my last post, I thought I put my thoughts here in a separate post.

Mark said: "Obama understands the 2nd amendment guarantees our rights to bare arms." Mark was referring to the media's infatuation with Michelle Obama's muscular arms.

I don't know whether to lol or groan, Mark. :)

So while we're on the subject...what's up with the media's obsession with Michelle's biceps and triceps? I was working out in the gym 3-4 times a week when Michelle was in diapers. Women all over America regulary hit the gym and stay fit. This love affair with MO's arms is really strange in my opinion. But then, if you really analyze the woman, she's not really classy, elegant, beautiful or even that pretty. She's actually very average looking. So maybe the media's obsession with her arms is to divert attention away from the fact that she's basically just a plain jane otherwise.

Isn't that what the media always does? Divert attention away from the real news? How much time has the media spent focusing on "fluff" instead of the important issues because they are protecting their sacred cows?

I invite readers to list examples of this type of media irresponsibility...

Here's a "for instance":

The media always focuses on "gun crimes" but never focuses on the fact that concealed carry laws to allow law abiding citizens to protect themselves actually lower the crime rate.

Give us your examples.

There have been "hate crimes" by Muslims against non-Muslims. I use the term "hate crimes" because it fits the definition that the left publicly uses, though not the definition they truly mean, which is protecting homosexuals and stifling Judeo-Christian expression.

But the point is, that the media doesn't mention the Muslim tie-in until there's absolutely no choice. That usually means they were forced to by a Michelle Malkin type shows the radical motivation of the perpetrator.

Oh, and we know, since we're told, that there's no important differences between homosexuals and the rest of us, but we never hear of crimes by them, particularly sex crimes, until, again, a Malkin type spills the beans.

What the heck, they don't mention that these "pedophile priests" are homosexuals, do they?

Marshall, I hadn't thought about that one. When Muslims or Muslim sympathizers blow people up or shoot people, or run their cars into crowds of people, the media diverts attention away from their "Muslim-ness" and labels them "Lone Gunman", "disturbed individual" or some such nonsense.

Good one.

Way to call a spade a spade, Marshall. How dare the media call it a hate crime when someone is killed for their religion? Don't they understand that if someone of that same religion has killed people then it makes everyone of that belief equally culpable. They are only interested in belittling it when some Christian is expressing them self by dragging some dirty homo to death behind their pickup truck.

Ms. Green is right too. There was hardly any mention that the attacks on 9-11 were perpetrated by Muslims. I can't tell you how many times I heard them referred to as "disturbed lone gunmen" and almost never as Muslims. Contrast that with Timothy McVeigh or all the people who shoot abortion doctors or blow up abortion clinics. All you hear is "Christians, Christians, Christians!" Why, you'd think Christian Timothy McVeigh was the guy's name!

When the religion is Islam, whose "holy book" encourages violence, and whose founder was violent, then the religion is culpable.

Christians don't drag people behind their pickup truck. And for the record, I think you have two different crimes confused with each other. There was an incident in Texas where two men viciously drug a black man behind their truck. These were not Christian men.

There was hardly any mention that the attacks on 9-11 were perpetrated by Muslims.

Since 9-11 the media and the government have made a concerted effort to avoid the term "terrorist" and avoid mentioning the religion of Islam, even when the perpetrators were clearly acting on their religious principles.

As for Timothy McVeigh, there's no indication he was a Christian.

As for people who shoot abortion doctors or blow up abortion clinics, there haven't been that many, but yet, a few of them have claimed to be Christians and believed they were saving the lives of other citizens (the babies yet unborn) but they were wrong to do what they did. The Bible does not condone either situation.
Nor, I might add, does it condone abortion.
You can't compare the Bible's fundamentals with the Koran's fundamentals. They are diametrically opposed.
