Revolution

What brings a people to revolution?
What is the character of a people willing to engage in a revolution?
Are Americans today of the same character as those of the American Revolution of the 1700s?

Consider some of the words of Thomas Paine.

SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.
Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one: for when we suffer, or are exposed to the same miseries BY A GOVERNMENT, which we might expect in a country WITHOUT GOVERNMENT, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer.

But where says some is the King of America? I'll tell you Friend, he reigns above, and doth not make havoc of mankind like the Royal Brute of Britain.

Along those lines, this video…

"These are the times that try men's souls." - Thomas Paine

Please take the time to read Common Sense.

Are men's souls not being tried in such a time as this?

Ms. Green,

Never in my 80 years have I heard as much "conversation" about the current concept of "Revolution."
The excesses of the BO man have stirred the passions of Patriots.

One of the latest is a great article in the Conservative Publication Human Events.

Believers in Christ must do some real praying and thinking about what is happening in our once-free Republic.

In Christ eternally,

ExP(Jack)

Brother Jack,

My question is, are there enough Patriots left in this country?

Ms.Green, I believe Revolution or Civil War will happen with or without Patriots. Civil unrest will develop because of a myriad of reasons including economic, political, class, race, and religion. All of these will fester until they literally explode in every aspect of society. This will have little parallel with our first great revolution.
This Revolution will not be about Country, Patriotism, Constitution, or Rule of Law. It will totally be about "GODLESSNESS". There no longer is a Moral Anchor for our country to measure to. We Christians have been ignoring this fact for quite some time. Homosexually, abortion, and a horrendous hatred for God has so permeated our nation that only JUDGMENT DAY will end it.
We Christians should be thinking more about preparing our witness and service during these changing times. The "Great Falling Away" has already started. Now the "Harvest Is Ripe". Yes, we must equip ourselves both physically and spiritually for these coming battles. Only a unified and rock solid trust in Christ will sustain believers in these coming dark days. God Bless, Herm

Certainly not akin to that of those who are having house-parties this weekend and waving signs.

How's about refusing...as a group...to pay taxes next year? I mean...let's send Obama and Congress a message by having millions of Americans go to their payroll managers and tell them not to take any taxes out of their paychecks!

That would be more reminiscent of the Boston Tea-Party!

THAT would definitely express to government that a Revolution is growing!
