Two Kinds of Atheists

There are basically two types of atheists.

The first group consists of persons who for whatever reason have not yet been convinced or seen enough evidence of a supreme being. They may have no religious background, they may have had life experiences, pain and trials, that they felt proved a godless universe. They may have met one too many hypocritical Christians. The reasons are endless. However, those in this group could change given the right evidence, the right testimony, and the right personal experience. They are open to the possibility that they might be wrong, and are not prideful or illogical in their discussions with believers and hold no animosity toward those of faith.

Group two consists of persons who for whatever reason have made a conscious choice to reject God. They may, as those in group one, have had life experiences, pain and trials, that they felt proved a godless universe. They may have met one too many hypocritical Christians. The reasons are endless. However, they at some point decided that they did not WANT there to be a God. They like being atheists, they consider themselves superior over those of faith, and they have committed their lives to constantly berating, insulting, contradicting, attacking and otherwise belittling people of faith, primarily Christianity and all of its followers. Their disbelief becomes hate. Then once their hate takes over, it overshadows their logic, their rationale, and their very personalities. They become, as their total identity, the “atheist”. They thrive in their atheism. It becomes who they are. It becomes their religion.

The Bible says that God has given a “measure of faith” to every person. It says He draws all men to Him. It also says that none of us would seek Him if He did not draw us.

No atheist in hell will ever be able to say that God did not draw him or her, or that they did not at some point in their life know or at least suspect that there really was a God. And unfortunately, all too many of them will realize that their pride and their hate, and their willful rejection of Him is what put them in the flames – not God.

Harsh? Reality is harsh sometimes..

Scripture references:

"For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." Romans 12:3

"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." John 12:32

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." Romans 3:10-12

Are Atheist Countries Better Off?

Once again, statistics are manipulated to “prove” a foregone conclusion. In a recent Free Inquiry article, the atheists’ hero, Phil Zuckerman attempts to show that belief in God is somehow detrimental to society and that atheism and agnosticism create greater societal health. He gives credit for the majority of his article to Gregory S. Paul. Paul is an artist and freelance paleontologist and not a statistician or sociologist. True statisticians have called his work invalid and unacceptable. George H. Gallup International Institute (of “Gallup” polls) has said of Paul’s study that it “does not pass scholarly muster”.

Nations listed by Paul as being at the top in societal health (supposedly because of their secularism/ “organic atheism”) include Norway, Sweden, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, and Denmark.
A few notes of interest on a few of these countries include the fact that 33% of Netherlanders support a Pedophile Political Party. Denmark offers animal bordellos for those wanting to engage in sex with barnyard animals. Suicide is significantly higher in most of these countries than in religious countries.

Bestiality, pedophilia and suicide don’t appeal to me. However, I have no objection to atheists and agnostics congregating in these great bastions of societal health.

As far as the United States being a Christian country, I would suggest rather that we are a post Christian society, and that is the reason for the increased crime and immorality in this country. When we started kicking God out of the public arena, that is when the enemy started moving in.

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good." Psalm 53:1

"Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight." Psalm 9:19

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10
