Did Jesus Really Perform Miracles?

This is an excellent article over at Probe.org. There's not much to comment on, as the article pretty much says it all, but I thought it was worth passing on.

There are many "Christian" scholars today that deny Jesus's miracles. They pick and choose what they want to believe from the Bible as though they were at a $12.99 all-you-can-eat buffett. If you look at extra-Biblical writings of the first and second centuries after Christ, it's especially interesting to note that none of Jesus's skeptics or enemies of his time refuted the fact that he performed miracles. They denied his deity and instead called Jesus a sorcerer. He did perform miracles. No doubt.

I've seen miracles in my own life and in those I love and care for. I have no problem believing in the miracles of the Bible. In fact, if I didn't believe in them, I wouldn't be a Christian. - Which has for many years been a puzzle to me - why do liberals who don't believe the Scriptures choose to call themselves Christians? Guess it "feels good". After all, isn't that what liberalism is all about? Feeling good about yourself? I'm a good person... I care more than you do.

II Timothy 3:5: "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."

Moderate Muslims - Prove Yourselves

Journalist and News Producer Brigitte Gabriel told the Heritage Foundation Wednesday that moderate Muslims should demonstrate in the streets of the US denouncing violent behavior by Islamo-fascists . She went on to say that American Muslims should basically say, “we are Americans first, if you kill one of us, you kill all of us.”

Unfortunately, the reality is that so called moderate Muslims in this country, though they are free to take to the streets to condemn terrorism, will not do so because so many of them actually support what organizations like Hamas, Al Qaeda, Hezbollah and others do.

If I’m wrong, then I invite them to prove me wrong.

That’s what I thought. Silence.

Ms. Gabriel also warned about the growing number of terror cells right here among us in the US. She claims there are as many as 40 cities across the country with active Hamas cells.

We need to take political correctness and throw it in the garbage, and start educating our people," she said. "We have a problem not only with Hamas but with radical Islam being spread through the mosques in the U.S. - financed by our so-called allies like Saudi Arabia.”

Here's the full article.

Just as in cancer, if left untreated, these terrorist cells will continue to grow and infect our society. I only hope we start doing something about them before it becomes terminal.

Science as God

I love science. I like to hear how things work, I love nature, I love to learn about this wonderfully created world that God made for us. So I hang out at science websites. One of my favorites is Live Science.
Once in a while though, I get really irked at the pride and arrogance of some scientists that believe they are gods themselves, inerrant and infallible, with all the answers. They forget that some of the greatest scientists and mathematicians of all time were Christians. I got ticked yesterday when I read this. They could at least get their facts straight while they are ridiculing Scripture and the book of Genesis.

Here's an excerpt from the #1 Creation Myth according to the science gods:

"Genesis, the first book of the Jewish Torah and the Christian Bible, contains two origin stories, both of which are accepted as the creation of the world by today's Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths...God anesthetizes Adam and makes one of his ribs into the first woman, Eve. A talking serpent persuades her to eat the forbidden fruit, and she convinces Adam to do likewise. When God finds out, he drives them from the garden and makes man mortal. They should have stuck with apricots!"

I hate it when people mock God.

Are Atheist Countries Better Off?

Once again, statistics are manipulated to “prove” a foregone conclusion. In a recent Free Inquiry article, the atheists’ hero, Phil Zuckerman attempts to show that belief in God is somehow detrimental to society and that atheism and agnosticism create greater societal health. He gives credit for the majority of his article to Gregory S. Paul. Paul is an artist and freelance paleontologist and not a statistician or sociologist. True statisticians have called his work invalid and unacceptable. George H. Gallup International Institute (of “Gallup” polls) has said of Paul’s study that it “does not pass scholarly muster”.

Nations listed by Paul as being at the top in societal health (supposedly because of their secularism/ “organic atheism”) include Norway, Sweden, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, and Denmark.
A few notes of interest on a few of these countries include the fact that 33% of Netherlanders support a Pedophile Political Party. Denmark offers animal bordellos for those wanting to engage in sex with barnyard animals. Suicide is significantly higher in most of these countries than in religious countries.

Bestiality, pedophilia and suicide don’t appeal to me. However, I have no objection to atheists and agnostics congregating in these great bastions of societal health.

As far as the United States being a Christian country, I would suggest rather that we are a post Christian society, and that is the reason for the increased crime and immorality in this country. When we started kicking God out of the public arena, that is when the enemy started moving in.

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good." Psalm 53:1

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10

Agroterrorism

Remembering the recent spinach related deaths and the subsequent recall of the tasty leafy treat nationwide, here’s something interesting to think about. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is having its “second annual International Symposium on Agroterrorism in Kansas City, a week-long summit of law enforcement and agriculture officials on the front lines of preventing, detecting, and investigating intentional attacks on the U.S. food supply.” Seems they are looking at the possibility of wide-spread harm being done through not only our water supply, but our food supply as well.

Here’s an excerpt:

In the event of an attack, the FBI would focus on the criminal investigation while the FDA and USDA center their attention on containing the public health risks. The FBI would collect the suspected hazardous material and send it to a network of labs with standardized procedures for identifying biological or chemical pathogens—a process that 10 years ago took days today takes hours. If the samples were positive, the FBI would establish a Joint Operations Center with representatives from Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, HHS, EPA, FDA, and FEMA, along with local law enforcement, public health officials, and scientists

I have a lot of respect for the FBI, but FDA, EPA, and FEMA? Is that supposed to make me feel safer?

Keith Ellison follow up

I wrote in July about Keith Ellison, the democratic candidate for congress in Minnesota's 5th District. I warned that he could be another David Duke in disguise, and pointed out the liberals "double standard" in endorsing this candidate. I also had one person basically call me a racist and a idiot, which is a typical liberal response when he or she disagrees - resort to name-calling when you know absolutely nothing about me other than I don't agree with you.

I noticed another mention today of Ellison and thought I would post a link to it. This comes from a slightly different angle than I did, but is worth the read just as well. Here is an excerpt:

"As part of his political platform, Mr. Ellison is calling for an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq and the impeachment of President Bush. Although he has every right to do so under US law, one must ask that if he is elected, will he serve his constituents in conformance with the constitution of the United States, or will he make decisions for the country as a result of the political doctrine imposed by his religion? An important aspect of our democratic society is the separation of church and state, which is the antithesis of orthodox Islam. Under Islam, there is no separation between church and state; Allah is the sole author of the law and it is up to the state to implement the laws of Allah. One only has to look at any country ruled by a Muslim government: the type of government is either dictatorial or autocratic. A true Muslim stipulates that the Qu’ran is the constitution."

The very fact that Ellison seems to have a chance at winning begs the question: Are there that many people that have succumbed to political correctness to the point of being unable to think rationally?

Imprecatory Prayer

Over at “Oh How I Love Jesus”, there is a great post suggesting that we are at a point in this nation where we need to seriously call out to God and use imprecatory prayer in doing so. Not sure what that is? Be sure to check out the post for an explanation.

Psalm 69 is one of my favorites in this category:

(excerpt):
They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away. O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee. Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel…But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation… Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake. Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them. Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents…Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous…The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.”

Night Visitor

I live in a suburb close to the bayou. We have a lot of wildlife that co-habitates with us - there are plenty of trees, shrubs, water etc. for both humans and animals to exist in harmony.

We have a lot of interesting birds come thru at this time of the year, and I have both conventional and hummer bird feeders out in strategic places around my home. Since my home office has a window looking out into a semi-flora covered area of the yard, I decided to buy one of those bird feeders that suction cups to the window so I can watch birds up close while I type away on my computer.

The other night I was cruising random blogs when I suddenly had the sensation that someone was watching me. You know the feeling. I looked around out through the door to my office down the hall toward the front of the house - but no one was there. I shrugged off the feeling, but it soon came back. I turned toward the door again, but no one. Then as I turned back toward my computer something caught my eye in the window.

There was someone looking at me. And they had beady little eyes too.

Where are the neighbor's cats when you need them?

Comparing Reactions - Christian vs Muslim

A writer for the Jordan Times, Rami G. Khouri, wrote an op-ed piece entitled Muslim faith and Muslim anger and claimed that the Pope’s recent remarks on Islam and the reaction of Muslims around the world reveal “as much about the sensitivities of Muslims as it does about the insensitivities of non-Muslims.

He goes on to say a lot of other things sympathetic to the Muslim community, including this paragraph:

So when the leading Christian figure of the entire world chooses to refer to an obscure mediaeval Byzantine emperor’s remarks disparaging Islam and the Prophet Mohammad, one can understand why some Muslims would be deeply angered, even threatened. The Pope should be better advised on Muslim sensitivities. How would he react if the world’s top Muslim religious leaders recommended screening the DaVinci Code movie in all schools?
I’d like to answer Mr. Khouri’s question.

I do not know the Pope, and as a matter of fact, he does not speak for me and my faith, so I can’t say for sure how he would react in this situation, but I can tell Mr. Khouri how the Pope would NOT react.

He would not call for Christians everywhere to take opportunities to kill top Muslim leaders and their followers
He would not call for a week of anger
He would not call for rioting in the streets
He would not call for attacks on mosques
He would not call for Christians to shoot Muslim women in the back

Narcissism Uncovered!

On a Lighter Note:

Stop the presses. You aren’t going to believe this one. It’s a real reality check.

It seems a study has come out that suggests that celebrities are more narcissistic than the rest of us. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT! I’m in shock.

Yes,the study actually suggests that it is not the entertainment industry that creates narcissism, but that narcissists are drawn to the entertainment industry because of their narcissism.

And all this time I thought people like Sean Penn, Paris Hilton, Tom Cruise and others were in it for my benefit – to entertain me and make my life a little better ; to make the world a better place (remember Meryl Streep and her quest to protect us from apples?)

I’m crushed.

Offending the Muslims

The Council on American Islamic Relations annual report complains of” a rise in anti-Muslim harassment, violence and discriminatory treatment on the Internet and talk radio.”

The article then goes on to say that CAIR Legal Director Arsalan Iftikhar admits most of the incidences involved complaints about racial profiling, denial of religious accommodations (read “demands”) and employment discrimination. No mosque burnings, no beheadings of Muslim worshippers, no blowing up of busses full of Muslim tourists etc.

Give me a break.

The pope recently had the nerve to quote someone who lived in the 1300’s who said, “Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

Let’s see…We’ve got Muslims attacking churches on the West Bank and in Gaza, shooting old lady nuns and calling for a “day of anger” and for Muslims to hunt down the pope and his followers and kill them because he dared to “offend” them. Sounds like evil and inhuman acts to me.

The Muslim community is offended by what the pope said.

Talk about wearing your feelings on your sleeve.

No wait, they strap bombs to their arms, don’t they…

Political Correctness will Destroy Us

We are destined to lose this clash of cultures and civilizations until we, as Americans, exhibit the same determination, strength and resolve as those who are trying to change us or kill us. If we fail to do so, I’m sure that the nearest CAIR office will be happy to supply you with your own copy of the Qu’ran, a prayer rug and prayer beads.” Doug Hagmann Director and Editor of the Northeast Intelligence Network

Americans should take heed to these words. They are true and disturbingly prophetic in nature. If we don't wake up to reality, America is going to be sacrificed to Allah on the altar of political correctness.

First, please read The Forbidden Truth about Islam

Another Reason to Not Vote Democratic

In spite of all that is going on it the middle east and around the world concerning radical Islam, there are still other issues to address here at home that have nothing to do with the Bin Ladens and Hassan Nasrallahs of the world...

The headline reads “Democrats aim for more gay delegates in 2008”.

Basically, the article says just that. The DNC recently adopted new rules that will increase the number of LBGT delegates at the 2008 Democratic National Convention…”to correct past underrepresentation of gay people among delegates”. The last census showed us that homosexuals make up less than 1% of the population.

The 2004 convention had 255 openly GLBT delegates present, representing 48 states and three territories – up from 212 representatives at the 2000 convention.

According to Wikipedia, the delegate count was 4322.
1% of that is 43 delegates.
The GLBT delegates numbered 255 – so according to my calculator, that put them at just under 6% of the total. Looks to me like the problem was not underrepresentation, but overrepresentation.

So let’s see what percentage of the Democratic delegation will be homosexual at the next National Convention. Anybody want to take a guess? My guess would be more like 10 to 15 % .

This is just another example of how the Democratic party and its platform is incompatible with Christian values.

Poetic Justice

Too often the bad guy gets away with his dirty deed and the innocent suffer not only at the hands of the offender, but often at the inadequacy of the justice system. There is so much bad news we can read and hear in this age of instantaneous media coverage. So I really enjoy it when I read a story like this.

Seems a 51-year-old woman named Susan Kuhnhausen came home to find an intruder in her house who came at her with a claw hammer. She was injured, but continued to put up a fight until she was able to get her hands around the intruder's neck and choke the life out of him.

Initially, the guy was thought to be burglarizing the place, but it turns out he was actually hired by the woman's estranged husband to kill her.

Poetic justice prevailed. The hit man got the death penalty and didn't cost the state a penny, and the husband is in jail, hopefully facing the same fate.

I hope that she will be able to get over this trauma and move on with her life. From her voice mail message on her answering machine, I would say she's well on her way.

Will the Next Generation be more Pro-Life?

This article is one of the more encouraging ones I’ve read in a while. Maybe, just maybe, the tide may be starting to turn, and the next generation has seen through the lies of the pro-abortion movement. Maybe they have come to the realization that it isn’t just a blob of tissue, it is a human life

Here’s an excerpt for those who won’t read the entire article:

In 2004, UCLA’s annual poll of U.S. college freshmen found student support for legal abortion at its lowest level (54 percent) since the poll began in 1977. Glamour last year noted the “mysterious disappearance of young pro-choice women,” pointing to a 2003 CBS/New York Times poll that found only 35 percent of women 18-29 responded that “abortion should be available to anyone who wants it”; in 1993, it had been 50 percent.

“Unbelievably shocking,” said Alexander Sanger, head of Planned Parenthood. “Isn’t it obvious that young women have to be at the forefront of fighting for their reproductive rights because they’re the ones who need them?”

Sanger says she’s shocked , but probably not for the reason she claims.. Don’t think the butchers will give up easily– after all it is about money.

Media Polls

Media Polls

The headline reads “Poll: More Americans blame Bush for 9/11” The article goes on to say that the percentage of Americans who blame Bush has risen from almost a third of the public to almost half, and that 45 percent said they blamed him “a great deal” or a “moderate amount”.

How many thousands of individuals were polled? Read the fine print.1004 Americans were surveyed by telephone. They claim the margin of error is 3 percent. I just visited the US Census Bureau online and it says the population at the moment is 299,720,375. According to my publicly educated brain, that works out to .00000335 percent of the population that actually participated in this poll.

There is an old saying that says "There are three ways to not tell the truth: lies, damned lies, and statistics."

If you want to deceive people, get some statistics and make sure they support your view. If they don't, just keep working on them until they do. The truth is, you can use statistics to try to prove just about anything. But then this is nothing new for the media.

If you say something enough times, some people will start to believe it.

That Which is Truly Offensive

In the middle of remembering 9/11, the Northeast Intelligence Network offers an excellent list of those things which are truly "offensive" as opposed to what the media considers offensive. Here is an excerpt:

Offensive is being unwilling to identify our enemy as Islamic fascists, or those Muslims who have declared war on Western society and are willing to kill as many non-believers – innocent men, women and children and die in the process of achieving their objectives...

Offensive is not being completely honest about the terrorist threat faced by the entire Western civilized world...

Offensive is to continue to maintain a relationship with those whose stated objectives are to kill us, our children and their children, just so we can avoid being labeled as religiously intolerant...

Offensive is to acquiesce to the demands being made by those who play the role of victims of religious intolerance, who cry foul about being profiled at airports, and who demand that such things as prayer rooms be constructed in sports stadiums so they can inch closer to dominating our society and Western culture...

Offensive is what politicians are when they whitewash the truth to avoid losing their funding from Arab and Islamic sources...

Offensive is being told that an “incident” has nothing to do with Islamic terrorism, when in fact, it has EVERYTHING to do with Islamic terrorism...

Offensive is doing nothing in the face of such an evil and contemptible enemy and a perilous threat.

Here is the link to the entire article.

September 11, 2006 - Remembering Five Years Ago

Today is the fifth anniversary of a day that changed forever the way many Americans look at the world. It also showed us quite clearly that our enemy is not an individual or individuals, but an ideology based on a religion of submission, conversion by force, and death.

There was an awakening on September 11th in a lot of people’s lives to the reality of their own mortality and many turned to their local churches looking for answers, seeking comfort, and searching desperately for some semblance of normality in the face of the horror of 9/11.

Our church, like many others, saw an increase in attendance by some who hadn’t visited a church in years. There were numerous people who got saved during that period of time as a direct result of their reaction to that fateful day. I remember one young man saying that as he watched the television video clip of a man leaping to his death from one of the flaming twin towers, he suddenly realized that if that had been he that day, he would have continued falling right into the pits of hell. He came to the Lord, repented of his sin, and put his trust in Christ for his salvation.

There were good things that came out of the death and destruction of that day. For a brief time, our country was once again unified – every race, creed, color and political party joined together to condemn this heinous act and to stand behind the President in his determination to begin the long battle against terrorism that needed and still needs to be waged.

Unfortunately, in this age of fast food and quick fixes, the awakening did not last. Most churches eventually saw their numbers fall back to normal, and many of those that had sought answers from God returned to their pre-9/11 lifestyles, and even forgot the short lived unity that was born out of that day.

Religious leaders caught a lot of flack from the media when it was dared to be spoken that God had temporarily lifted His hand of protection off of this nation – because of our moral decline and our removing God from the public arena. The truth is, though the words they chose to voice their belief were maybe not the words I would have used, the basic gist of what they said was true. God did lift His hand of protection. And He could very well do so again. But just as I said in a post several months ago, it is not the atheists, the homosexuals, the liberals, Hollywood, or any other group or individual that is the ultimate cause of God’s removal of protection. It is the Christian community itself that has the obligation to cry out to God, ask Him to forgive us for abandoning Him all too quickly and allowing immorality to run rampant in this country. We Christians are ultimately responsible for the future of this nation.

God help us to be strong.

God please bless America again.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14

The Lie that is Calvinism - Part 2

This verse, without doubt, is the Calvinist's favorite verse in all of Scripture when trying to prove their false doctrine:

"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." (Rom. 8:29-30).

Calvinists say, "See! God chose ahead of time who would be saved."

Now, let’s look at what this verse really says.

For whom he did foreknow…"

God KNEW ahead of time who would become believers and who would not. (Calvinists will say God foreknew US, but not that He foreknew that we would be believers).

“…he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son,…”

The same ones that God KNEW ahead of time would become believers, He predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son. Obviously, a non-believer will not be conformed to Christ. But as believers, we are to die to self and be conformed to Jesus.(See Galatians 2:20.) And since we who are saved are destined for heaven, we WILL ultimately be conformed to the image of our Saviour.
“…that he might be the firstborn among many brethren…”

“…Moreover whom he did predestinate,…”

Those that God KNEW ahead of time would become believers, and whom He therefore predestined to be conformed to Christ. Notice that the verse DOES NOT say that He predestined those He foreknew to be saved. He predestined them to be conformed to Christ because He knew already that they would be saved.

“…them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified, and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”

God is still talking about those that would be saved. God is talking about believers living according to the purposes of God. This is His plan for believers. He IS NOT telling us that He chose to save certain individuals and chose to condemn others to Hell. Look back at verse 28:

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

God’s plan is that whatever happens to the BELIEVER will work out for good, to those who are called according to His plan.

What is His plan? Read verse 28 again and you’ll know. The verse is not referring to God’s plan of salvation, but to His plan for believers.

The basis for salvation given in the New Testament is NEVER based on being “elected”. It is ALWAYS based on belief (or “trust”) in Jesus Christ.

How do I know I’m saved? Because I believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. (see Acts 16:31, John 3:36, I John 5:13, etc. etc. etc. etc.)

Comparing Islamic Terrorism and Old Testament Conquests

I hear a lot of rhetoric these days from individuals (non-Christians) coming to the defense of the religion of Islam, saying there is no difference between what terrorists do and what Israel did during the Old Testament. After all, there were times when God commanded the Israelites to go into an area and kill every man, woman, and child – sometimes even the livestock as well.
So why are Christians or Jews any different than Muslims?

Granted, there are some things in the Old Testament that are hard to swallow, and many much more intelligent people than I have attempted to explain some of these situations and why God did what He did. However, I am convinced that the two ideologies are entirely opposite and there is no comparison with the God of the Bible and the false god of Islam.

First of all, God is a God of love. He loves us, but He hates sin.
Allah does not love anything or anyone. In fact, Allah hates sinners (i.e.: all of us)
God is unchanging (what do you change when you are perfect?).
Allah can change any time he wants to.
God is holy and cannot sin. For instance, God can’t lie.
Allah can do anything he wants to do. Allah can lie.
God wants a personal relationship with us. He reveals much about Himself through His Word.
Allah has no interest in a relationship with us. Allah is unknowable. He reveals only his will.
God offers salvation through grace by faith.
Allah might offer salvation if you do enough good works and they outweigh your sins. Even then, there’s no guarantee. The only way to guarantee a free ticket to heaven is to die while murdering those who don’t believe in Allah.

The Bible is full of Scripture explaining that God is a merciful, long-suffering God.

Psalms 86:15: “But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.”

II Peter 3:9: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Ezekiel 33:11:” Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”

Ezekiel 18:32 “For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.”

Jonah understood this. That’s why he got in trouble with God when he was commanded to go and preach to the Ninevites. Jonah hated the Ninevites because of what they’d done to his people. He KNEW God was long suffering and merciful and would spare the Ninevites if they repented and turned to Him. So he ran away. He wanted Ninevah to be destroyed.

Jonah 4:2:” And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.”

So I have to believe that in the few instances in Scripture where God specifically commanded the Israelites to go into a land and wipe out everyone, this was only after He had given numerous opportunities to the inhabitants to repent of their worship of their pagan gods and turn in faith toward Jehovah God, the true god. Everything seems to indicate that these people were pagan worshipping, sexually deviant, child-sacrificing degenerates who had ample opportunity to repent and be saved but chose not to. And the majority of them went straight to hell when they were killed. I say the majority, because some of them were children, and the Bible clearly tells us that if a child dies before he/she comes to the age of accountability, he or she goes to heaven. So in actuality, God spared the children of these pagan groups from going to hell by allowing them to die before the age of accountability. God is a holy, just and perfect judge. We are ALL going to die. He just decides when and how. Who are we to tell God how our lives should end or under what circumstances?

Now contrast that with the terrorist mindset and Allah’s command to kill infidels. There’s no call from Allah to repent. It’s a demand to submit or die. There is no remorse on Allah’s part when infidels die. He hates us all. He evidently enjoys murder, as that is the only instance where he guarantees heaven – if a follower dies while killing Christians and Jews.

Jehovah God offers heaven to all who will receive His Son.

God gave us an advocate in Jesus Christ. Through Him we can become adopted sons and daughters.
Allah offers no advocate.

Christianity offers love and forgiveness. One can choose to accept or reject it.

Islam offers nothing. Islam demands submission with the threat of death.

There is no comparison between the two religions.

The Lie that is Calvinism - Part I

Some wrongly teach that "election" means God predestined some to be saved and some to be damned. Those that teach this say that God's Grace is irresistable and we can't turn him down - like robots that have been pre-programed. Preachers of this heresy are often caustic and hateful with their message. A case in point is Fred Phelps. He's a perfect example of someone whose gospel is a false gospel of hate rather than love. He actually says God hates homosexuals rather than the truth - which is that God hates the SIN of homosexuality.

The Bible, however, teaches us that man has free will to make his own choices.

Scripture always speaks better than any human being, so I have listed what Scripture says about salvation being offered to all.

(Caps are my emphasis)

"And he is the propitiation for our sins; and NOT FOR OURS ONLY, but also for the sins OF THE WHOLE WORLD."
I John 2:2

"God hath dealt to EVERY MAN the measure of faith." Romans 12:3a

"For WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13

"For God so loved THE WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
." John 3:16

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if ANY man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him." Revelation 3:20

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to ALL people." Luke 2:10

"I am the door: by me if ANY man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." John 10:9

"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, WILL DRAW ALL MEN unto me." John 12:32

"He THAT REJECTETH me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." John 12:48

"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to ALL men." Titus 2:11

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH, but that all should come to repentence." II Peter 3:9

We can ALL accept Christ, or we can reject Him.We're not preprogrammed to do one or the other.
