There's Nothing Sweeter

I'm teaching a class this week for Vacation Bible School, and also helping to counsel those that come forward during the invitation each day.
Dealing with children and the message of the Gospel is an awesome responsibility. You want them to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, but you don't want to push them into something that they don't yet truly understand. But when the best happens - and you do get to lead some young man or lady to the Lord, it is the sweetest most satifying feeling in the whole world. There are two young ladies today whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life that were not there before. And the angels rejoice. As do I. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Luke 18:16

Pedophile Political Party

There's a big furor going on today about a group in the Netherlands registering as a political party on behalf of pedophiles. Basically, what they want is to lower the age of consent to 12 and legalize kiddie porn and bestiality.
Why, I ask, is anyone suprised or shocked? Many have been saying for years that it would come to this. Since the 60s, society has been spiraling lower and lower into the depths of sexual perversion while Christians for the most part kept silent for the sake of "political correctness" and the need to avoid being seen as "mean-spirited" or "judgmental". What was considered abnormal and perverse, even by the medical and psychological community (homosexuality) is now "mainstream" and normal. Having babies out of wedlock is perfectly acceptable, especially in the Hollywood crowd where partners are changed more often than hairstyles. Being married to the same person for any length of time is almost a novelty. A recent survey said 67 percent of Netherlanders believe promoting pedophilia should be illegal, and 82 percent want the government to do something to stop the party's formation. These figures are alarming in themselves, indicating that 33 percent think pedophilia is ok and 18 percent wouldn't mind the new Party. In the US, the same survey would probably see similar figures. But give it time. Hollywood and the Media will indoctrinate the masses here too, and the tide will change, just as it did with the subject of homosexuality. Movies are now being made in this country to glorify pedophilia,(Whole New Thing, 2005) and it is the next logical step in the descent. Bestiality? Pretty disgusting. But don't think it is going to stop there. There's always necrophilia.
In the Book of Revelation, the 22nd chapter, Jesus says,"...Surely, I come quickly," to which the author John replies, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus". My sentiments exactly.

Follow up on Mosgow Gay Pride Parade

After learning of Mosgow's Mayor's denial of a permit to have a Gay Pride Parade, I, like probably many others, thought that subject was ended. Not the case... It seems the homosexual organizers decided they'd have their parade anyway, and though they tried to keep the route of the parade secret until the last minute, they were met by riot police and (unfortunately) skinheads. The scene quickly degraded into a riot when the parade reached the Tomb of the Unknown Solidier and activists attemped to lay flowers at the tomb . The London Telegraph reported that "Skinheads and others then set upon the marchers." Who actually threw the first punch is probably unknown. The point in all this is that Homosexual activists like to proclaim their normality - we're just like everyone else - we're family oriented, we're monogamous, we're law abiding citizens. But their actions say otherwise. If they apply for a permit and are denied - no big deal. We'll just break the law and have our parade anyway. And don't think for a minute that they don't love to see tempers flared and violence breaking out so that they can point to their "innocence" and the "cruelty and hate" of "homophobics"

Mayor of Mosgow Says No to Gay Parade

The Mayor of Mosgow has more courage than any USA Mayor I know of. When organizers applied for a permit to have a Gay Pride Parade in the capital of Russia, the Mayor said no. Even after receiving harsh criticism in the form of a letter from the president of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities at the Council of Europe, Mayor Yuri Luzhkov didn't budge. Good for you, Mayor. Homosexuality is not a behavior to be celebrated any more than adultery, pedophilia, promiscuity,or any other sexual deviation. We need more men and women like you in leadership positions.

Think You've Heard it All?

As I said in a previous post,(Evolution vs Creation) Evolution is faith-based, and there is an agenda behind this whole "science" that has not yet been totally revealed. The theory of Evolution has been used to support many of the evils of the world today, including but not limited to murder (the Holocaust),abortion(it's a fetus), increased crime (there's no God, so who are you to tell me what to do?) sexual perversion(we're all just animals and we have our instincts and desires to act on)etc. etc. And now, it seems set to take one step further into degradation. According to this story, the time may come when saying "I'll be a monkey's uncle" will take on a whole new meaning.

Why America is in the Shape It's In

You probably won't like my answer to the question, "WHY IS AMERICA IN THE SHAPE IT'S IN?". There are a lot of answers to this question, but most of them are only partially correct. I want to examine a few of them and then point the finger of truth toward the real culprit.
Politicians. We don't hold them accountable anymore. They're out of touch and out of control.
Illegal Immigrants They're criminals, many are milking the system, they're taking jobs away from Americans, and they're in our face proudly claiming rights that haven't been given to them.
Criminals - Law Enforcement isn't respected anymore. Anarchy rules. Do what you want, just don't get caught.
Homosexual Activists - They don't just WANT to be accepted - they DEMAND to be accepted and will do everything in their power to MAKE the world treat them with the respect they think they deserve.
Hollywood - Keeps turning out trash that appeals to the lowest common denominator. Hollywood has an agenda and is using film to shape public opinion and behavior.
Pornographers - Sex is the number one national passtime and has been lowered to nothing more than a physically self-gratifying quest for the ultimate sexual high.
Public Education System- We've allowed public schools to shape our children's lives and indoctrinate them with anti-God, anti-Christian, pro-evolution, pro-homosexual value systems and beliefs.

All of these things are contributors to why America is in the shape it's in, but the number one reason is this:
Christians That's right. Christians are why the country is in the shape it is in. If you are a Christian, then you are the main reason. Why are we Christians at fault for what ails America? Because we have allowed God to be taken out of the public domain and locked inside of the church. We have allowed the taking of his name in vain so often by saying nothing - that now hearing it doesn't even shock us anymore. We have allowed abortion and euthanasia to become commonplace with hardly a whimper. We've separated ourselves from the world and given up. We've stopped witnessing. We've become afraid to speak out boldly about our faith. And we wonder why God stands by and allows this country to continue to self-destruct!
We have sinned against our Creator by our apathy and timidity. How can we reverse the trend? Have we been silent too long? Without God's help, we are defeated. This country could still be turned around, back toward the Christian values that it was founded on, but it will take real revival by real Christians who are on their knees begging forgiveness and seeking His power. We need to heed His words: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Christian, are you going to continue to be part of the problem?

Troubles of the Heart

The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring Thou me out of my distresses. Psalm 25:17
Ever feel like your problems are growing faster than you can get a grip on them? You wake up in the morning saying to yourself,I'm gonna be ok today. I can handle whatever life throws at me. I'll make it. But by the end of the day, the troubles/problems,challenges, failures/disappointments have so beaten you down that you lay your head down on the pillow that night thinking, I can't handle this anymore. Life is going kill me... I've been feeling that way a lot lately, and in the process of my distress, I find myself not only self-destructing, but actually harming the one person in this life who means the most to me. When I wake up in the morning and realize the damage I've done to him, I realize that I've got to get a grip! So I search the Scriptures, looking for an answer, and I find Psalm 25:17. The troubles of my heart are many and they do seem enlarged, but I remind myself that God can bring me out of my distresses. So I go to Him in prayer and pray the words to this Psalm (words He wrote through man's hand) and I trust that He will bring me out of my distresses as He promised He would. And I feel better already. Now it's time to do some mending of my own with the one I love.

100% or Nothing Law Enforcement?

Imagine the uproar if President Bush announced today that since we can’t possibly catch all the terrorists that are loose in the world, he’s decided that we’re going to just give up. No use in hunting down some of them if we can’t find them all. Or what about right here at home? There are so many unsolved murders, armed robberies, rapes, and other assorted crimes that we’ll probably never solve them all. So let’s quit trying to capture these guys. Pornography is rampant, but we can’t possible run down every slime bag out there – and besides, it is a multi-million dollar business – it would probably hurt the economy if we shut down all the smut operators. On all these issues, if we can’t bring them all to justice, why not just grant them all amnesty? We’re fighting a losing battle, right? Is this starting to ring a bell? It should. This is exactly the philosophy of the pundits in Washington who are pushing for an Illegal Alien Amnesty Program. We can’t catch them all, and besides, the economy would suffer. So let’s just give them all amnesty and everything will be ok. Since when did we decide on a "100% or nothing" law enforcement policy in this country? If we can't find every murderer, rapist, armed robber or burglar in this country, should we just give amnesty to them all? Why won't law enforcement officials go to these public protests and start rounding up everybody without a green card? What fear is there in the criminal if he can boldly commit his crime while law enforcement stands by and watches? Sure it would be an astronomical job at this point to round them all up at once - but what is wrong with "one criminal at a time"?

Arabs Board School Bus

Are we to believe, do the law enforcement officials really believe, that these guys had anything in mind other than mischief or destruction? And on another subject, have the US Government officials who want to offer amnesty to illegal alliens thought about all the illegal Arabs in this country? How many enemies of this country are already here illegally, bent on destruction of our way of life and on turning us into either an Islamic State or a nuclear wasteland? In an article posted in 2003, Joseph Farrah writes:

"Foreign-born Islamic terrorists have continued to use almost every conceivable means of entering the United States since Sept. 11, 2001, including every aspect of penetrating the U.S. immigration system.

Militant Islamic terrorists have come into the U.S. as students, tourists and business visitors. They have sneaked across the border illegally, arrived as stowaways on ships, used false passports, and have been granted amnesty and citizenship. Terrorists have even used America's humanitarian tradition of welcoming those seeking asylum, reports G2 Bulletin.

And there is no question Arabs have used the porous border between the U.S. and Mexico and the immigration problems it poses for Washington to its advantage.

Mahmud Abouhalima, a leader of the 1993 Trade Center bombing, was legalized as a seasonal agricultural worker as part of the 1986 amnesty. Only after he was legalized was he able to travel outside of the country, including several trips to the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, where he received the terrorist training he used in the bombing. Abdel Hakim Tizegha, involved in the millennium plot, sneaked across the border posing as a Mexican migrant

Muslim Student Halts Grad Prayer

Today WorldNetDaily reports that a 17-year old Muslim student has managed to get a temporary restraining order against prayer at her high school graduation. She is "offended" by terms like"Jesus Christ...heavenly father"... She also claims that "almost immediately after objecting to the prayer, she was harassed by a group of students. One student told her he wanted her out of the country..." "Principal Gary Kidwell, ...said he will not tolerate further harassment."
As I said in an earlier post HATE SPEECH HOTLINE ,it is Christians who are receiving the brunt of hate speech, discrimination, harassment, and intolerance, and she IS in the USA, which was founded on Christian principles and if the majority of students want prayer at their graduation, she should "tolerate" it. She "offended" other Christian students by her actions - I call that harassment.
There is a time to turn the other cheek, but there is also a time to stand boldly for your faith (Acts 9:29, Ephesians 6:19) and defend your right to pray and acknowledge Jehovah God and His Son Jesus Christ.
"...The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." Hebrews 13:6

Hanna

Hanna is a Biblical name that means "without". Being a miniature Daschund, Hanna is "without" legs. Thus the name. She's very curious, and not having the ability to be eye-level with many objects/people that interest her, she frequently assumes a "Tim Conway" stance.

Prophecy Part 1

It's amazing. Events of the world are falling into place, toward the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy of the end of this world. From 600BC to about 100 AD, many major prophecies were written about the end times - centuries and centuries before electricity, plumbing, mass communication, electronics. Here are just a few examples: Nuclear events (Uranium wasn't discovered until 1789): "...the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.(Zechariah 14:12), "And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree... "(Isaiah 34:4)
Mass Communication and Satellite TV (electricity wasn't discovered for over 16 centuries after the book of Revelation was written): The book of Revelation tells us that the two witnesses will be killed by the antichrist and that the whole world will see their dead bodies and celebrate for days. "And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city...And...people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies ...And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another... Revelation 11:8-10
Microchip Technology: "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark..." Revelation 13:16-17
More to come...

Hate Speech Hotline

Boulder Colorado is setting up a "hate speech hotline".
Given the current trend of doing everything possible to silence Christians and take God and Jesus Christ out of the public domain, I'm wondering...if someone is sitting across from me at the bus station reading the DaVinci Code, and begins to carry on a conversation with me about how Jesus was really a fake and somehow crawled off the cross and went on to get married in live in France, could I call this hotline and send the thought police out to arrest this person who has offended me? Fat chance.

I was an agnostic for many years. I was never “attacked” or belittled by a Christian for being a sceptic. I saw many people who claimed to be Christians who fell far short of what a Christian is supposed to be according to the Bible. But I also found that some of the kindest, gentlest and most forgiving people I met were Christians. My husband is one of those people. I have met people of many faiths, including Jews, Muslims, Mormons, Athiests (yes, it's a "religion"), Jehovah’s Witnesses, and others. Some have been good people, some have not. One does not have to be a Christian to be a “moral” person. I considered myself a "moral" person when I was an agnostic, and I still consider myself a "moral" person now that I'm a Christian. Trouble is, being "moral" won't get you to heaven. (But I'll talk about that some other time.)
I have trouble with blanket statements written and spoken against Christians, and like other bigotry and prejudice, I feel compelled to speak out against those that attack so viciously. Making blanket negative statements about Christians is no different than making blanket statements about Blacks, Women, Jews or any other group of people. It is wrong and, to steal a term from the "politically correct" crowd, it is “mean-spirited”. So if Boulder wants to be consistent, they should treat anti-Christian speech with equal fervor as other so-called "hate speech".

Abortion and Christianity Don't Mix

I have been an active anti-abortionist for many years and still believe that one does not have to be a Christian to see the evil and the injustice in this act of government-sanctioned murder. So when I read in the local paper quotes from local "religious" leaders on abortion, it prompted me to sit down and furiously tap out this letter on my keyboard. This letter is actually several years old, but still relevant.

One minister remarked that life and choice are two issues presented in Genesis, implying that this somehow supported the “limited choice” stance of both he and his Church. I would like to remind him that the wrong “choice” is what brought death and banishment from paradise to Adam and Eve. The article goes on to say that he is “uncomfortable” with partial birth abortions as though he is discussing a piece of furniture.

Another "minister" claimed that “abortion at all is disgusting” but then claimed that “Jesus wouldn’t want a pregnancy that resulted from incest or rape” or where the life of the mother was threatened. Sounds like she thinks Jesus would advocate murdering unborn children in “some cases”. I’d be curious to know what Scripture she would quote to support such a position.

I expect women’s libbers to make such statements. It’s disappointing to see “Christian” leaders who will acquiesce and water down or deny Scripture to prevent themselves from being labeled “right wing, bigoted, hate-mongering radicals” by the world. I commend the one pastor who stated unequivocally that abortion is murder, even though he will be the one labeled as extreme.

As for the one feminist's “religious thing” that “God trusts us to be in charge of birth and children”, I say that God gave us the “privilege” of having children and that it is we who need to trust God, not God who needs to trust us.

Science and Christianity are Compatible

As a former agnostic for over 40 years, I am familiar with the arguments used to support anti-Christianity. However, having been metaphorically "hit in the head by God" (Romans 1:22), I now understand that these arguments and attacks don't hold water in the face of the evidence of the truth of God's Word.
Fallible humans sometimes err on the side of science (Spontaneous Generation, only 1,200 stars in the heavens, a flat earth, using leaches for medical cures, etc. — all once considered "science"). But to say that science and Christianity are incompatible is to sell science short. Where science and Christianity differ, science has or will come around. God is the ultimate scientist and mathematician, and medical and scientific men and women of great intellect and intelligence have attested to the accuracy of the Bible. These include Isaac Newton, Francis Bacon (primarily responsible for the establishment of the "scientific method"), William Hershel (the astronomer), Samuel Morse (inventor of the telegraph), Louis Pasteur, John Ambrose Fleming (considered by many as the father of modern electronics) and the list goes on.
Agnostics have sneered at the "hundreds of historical mistakes" in the Bible — only to be silenced by the science of archeology. The Bible told us before science that the Earth was round (Isaiah 40:22), the Earth was suspended in space (Job 26:7), the stars are innumerable (Genesis 15:5), there are mountains and canyons in the sea (2 Samuel 22:16 and Jonah 2:6), there are ocean currents (Psalms 8:8), and it even declares the first and second laws of Thermodynamics (Genesis 2:1-3 and Psalms 102:25-26). The Bible is not a fairytale. It is a handbook for living and contains the ticket to eternal life (Romans 10:9).

Evolution vs Creationism

Evolution vs. Creationism

As a fairly new Christian [since February, 1999], and as one who studied Anthropology/Archeology in college, I am very familiar with both sides of this argument.

The truth is, both sides base their beliefs on faith.

During 1859 when Charles Darwin published his theory on the evolution of man, “Spontaneous Generation” was considered a “scientific fact”. In other words, frogs grew from stagnant water; worms came from manure, maggots from rotting meat, etc. etc. However, Louis Pasteur later totally discredited this theory and today scientists realize that spontaneous generation is utterly impossible, and yet they continue to teach that somehow, the source of the first life on earth WAS through this same disproven theory. (Of course - now some are saying that life here actually came here from another planet - so where did THAT come from???)

Creationists believe that all life reproduces “after its kind” as stated in Genesis.
Evolutionists point to small changes or adaptation within a species to try and argue that this proves evolution. Even Darwin said, “Not one change of a species into another is on record…We cannot prove that a single species has changed.” (Darwin, My Life and Letters, Vol I, p. 210). This is true even today.

So, as science continues to change theories etc. as new discoveries are made, God’s Word remains the same.

Evolutionists believe that in the beginning, there was nothing, and then it exploded.
Creationists believe that “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth…”(Gen 1:1)
I believe that my faith in creationism, as God has revealed to us, is no less credible than the faith of evolution. In fact, science continues to prove itself wrong, and God’s Word correct.

Anti-Illegal Alien

I am not anti-immigration. However, I am very anti-illegal alien. There is a tremendous difference between the two. The media and many politicians seem to be totally confused on the two terms, using them interchangeably on a daily basis. Evidently, the public is also largely ignorant of the difference as well, thinking (because of media and said politicians) that there are just a bunch of bigoted upper and middle class whites who are trying to keep out all who are not like us. In layman’s terms, I’d just like to say, “hogwash”.
Each year the United States government issues tens of thousands of Green Cards to individuals chosen randomly by a computer generated lottery. In 2005 alone, over 1,000,000 immigrants were granted LPR (Legal Permanent Resident) status in the United States. This is the first step toward becoming a Naturalized Citizen of our country.
How does one become a legal permanent resident? According to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services website, you may be eligible through kinship, employment, asylum, or any other of a number of ways. After 3-5 years of having LPR status, you may apply for US Citizenship if you have lived in the US for at least 50% of the 3-5 years, if you have lived for more than 3 months in the state where you applied for citizenship, if you are 18 years or older, and if you have good moral character. You must also be able to speak and write in English and have a basic knowledge of US history and government. If you really want to live and work in the US, the doors are open to you if you go by the rules.
Recently, a friend of my husband and I told us with tears in his eyes that he had just received his papers and was now a full citizen of the United States. We emotionally congratulated him, feeling like an “official” welcoming committee. The anarchists and illegals don’t deserve the same treatment. They are criminals and should be treated as such. Good moral character? Doesn’t fit with the word, “illegal”.
