Taking Over From Within

Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.” Leviticus 24:22

It's hard to decide which is a bigger threat to our country - the radical homosexual agenda and secular humanism or the growth of Islam. If we continue to acquiesce when it comes to the Christian principles upon which this nation was founded, we will eventually look like an entirely secular nation. That is what Europe did, and now this is what is happening to them.

A synopsis of the article is this:

Henryk M. Broder, a German author, tells young Europeans that if they value their freedom, they’ll get out of Europe while they still can. Evidently, many are already doing so. The number of emigrants leaving the Netherlands and Germany surpasses the number of immigrants moving in. Europe is becoming an Islamic continent. There are approximately 50,000,000 Muslims there now, and that is expected to double in the next 20 years. By the year 2025, a full 1/3 of all children born in Europe will be born to Muslim families. And the saddest part of all is that secular Europeans would rather submit and fight this cultural battle. Tom Bethell is quoted in this article as follows: “Secularists…are also less keen on fighting. Since they do not believe in an afterlife, this life is the only thing they have to lose. Hence they will rather accept submission than fight.”

We need a President and Congress that will start saying no to those things that are part of the tearing down of our Christian heritage and founding. In fact, we need a reversal of what is already taking place in our schools, in our courtrooms, and in the halls of Congress. If you want to live in America, you live in a Christian nation. If you want secular humanism, go to Europe. If you want to live in an Islamic theocracy, go to Iran…or, before too long evidently, you can go to Europe - thanks to the secular humanists.

We need to pray for revival in this country.

Being a Prophet

Being a Prophet

The Bible says that every born-again Christian is given at least one spiritual gift. That gift is not to be confused with a talent or skill that one had before one was saved, but is instead a supernatural gift bestowed on the believer for the purpose of edification of the body of Christ. I will not spend a lot of time in this post on spiritual gifts, but will point out that the “sign gifts” of healing, speaking in tongues, prophesying the future, etc. have ceased (I Corinthians 13:8) but there are still many spiritual gifts being given to believers today. There are some excellent online spiritual gifts tests (here's one) that can be taken to determine one’s own gifts, and I encourage every born again believer to find out what their gift or gifts are, because God gave them for a reason – and we should study and pray that we use these gifts as God would have us to use them.

I have the spiritual gift of prophecy. I scored really high on prophecy and discernment – they were tied. Teaching and administration (ruling) were second.

Having the gift of prophecy does not mean I stand up and say “Thus saith the Lord” and proceed to predict what will happen in the future at a 100% accuracy rate. That kind of prophecy was for Old Testament prophets. And if they were truly of God, they WERE 100% accurate. In fact, if they claimed their messages were from God and they were wrong on even just one prophecy, they were to be stoned to death.

New Testament prophets see everything in black and white. We see sin and point it out. We see everything in light of what Scripture says. We sometimes come across as judgmental or holier-than-thou, and if we aren’t careful, we aren’t very much fun to be around. We are harder on ourselves than on anyone else when it comes to sin. The truth is, for several years now, after discovering that I had this gift, and having God work it in my life, I came to the conclusion that I didn’t want it. It was frustrating to me. I saw people doing wrong and shaming our Lord and wanted to do something about it. But what? Women are not to be preachers (I Timothy 3:2) and are not to usurp authority over men (I Timothy 2:12), so what was the use! I prayed and asked God to take the gift from me. I didn’t want it. It made my life miserable.

Habakkuk’s prayer (and mine!):
Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention. Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.” Habakkuk 1:3-4

I didn’t see any way for Him to make this a productive part of my life. I sought counsel with one of the pastors on staff whom I knew was a prophet as well. His advice – pray and ask God what He wanted me to do with it. He also said God doesn’t put too many prophets in one church because if he did, we’d make everybody mad and run them off! He said we have to learn to speak in love and mercy (I scored (-1 - that’s “negative one”) in mercy.)

So as I trudged along miserably, seeing sin at every turn and in every direction, I did what could only be a Holy Spirit guided act. I started telling people, as nicely as I could, and in a gentle way, that what they were doing was wrong – and it was against Scripture. One person had a problem with a foul mouth, and I confronted them and told them they needed to stop – to ask God to change them, and told them I’d pray for them. I told another person who had told me that they didn’t care about their ministry anymore that they SHOULD care, because they were in a position of leadership, and that I was going to pray that God would change their heart. Others who came to me seeking scriptural advice were told what they were doing that was causing their problems, because they were out of the will of God, and I told them I’d pray for them.

Things started happening. The person with the cursing problem came to me and said God was dealing with them about it, and they were cleaning up their language with His help. The person who didn’t care about their ministry anymore suddenly had a dramatic change, and a revitalization in their work in the ministry – so much that others took notice. This scenario started happening again and again, until it suddenly hit me. Just as Nathan said “Thou art the man”(II Samuel 12:7) to David, and David was convicted of his sin (II Samuel 12:13), God showed me that my job is to point out the sin in love, and then pray fervently for that person for God’s help in overcoming. Because without the love, the message is not going to be received well.

As for my own pitiful sinful self, I do the same thing. I point out my sin to myself (or rather, Scripture does it for me), but instead of beating myself up over it, I begin praying for deliverance from that sin, asking God to convict me even before I do it. My God continues to amaze me. He’s ALWAYS a step ahead of us.

God’s answer to Habakkuk (and to me!):
Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days which ye will not believe, though it be told you.” Habakkuk 1:5

Other Scripture references:

I Corinthians 13:8: “Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.”

I Timothy 3:2: “A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;”

I Timothy 2:12: “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.”

II Samuel 12:7: “And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;”

II Samuel 12:13: “And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.”

Facing the Giants

Went to see Facing the Giants. The Hollywood critics were way too hard on this one, but we all know why.

Yes, it's true - the acting was not the "polished" professional acting that a $20,000,000-a-movie actor gives us (although that in itself is arguable - Julia Roberts commands that much per movie and I don't think she's worth it myself),and there were a very few somewhat weak scenes, but overall I thought all the characters were very believable, and a couple of them really shined. My hat is off to every one of them. I can tell you that from the reaction of the other movie goers, along with the reactions from my family and myself, the movie is a hit. Very few times have I seen a movie audience clap and cheer at the end of a flick like they did in the theatre we visited.

Hollywood just doesn't get it. There ARE still Christians in this country who want to see good quality Christian worldview type movies - and this was one of them. It had it all - humor, tears, defeat, and triumph. All were in the context of what life is truly about - serving our God first above all else.

Is it a film that can be used for evangelism? I'm not so sure. The hardened hearts of the lost may not relate to this movie - it seems to me to be more of an encouragement to the saved than a message of the Gospel to the lost. Regardless, I would recommend the movie to all my saved family and friends. And it had a huge impact on my 10 year old nephew, who proclaimed that "the reason the movie was so great is because it showed that with God, we can overcome anything". Amen to that.

Theistic Evolution: Unnecessary Compromise

Without Genesis, there is no Christianity.

I’ve heard a lot of Christians say they just don’t believe the literal account of Creation in the book of Genesis. They've become convinced that evolution must be true, so in order to fit that with their faith, they have bought into the lie of Theistic Evolution – the idea that God did create the universe and all that is in it, but that he did so thru evolution. This compromise is not only not necessary, but it actually undermines the whole Christian faith.

Christians wrongly assume that science has proven evolution, so they choose Theistic Evolution in order to reconcile science with their belief in God. The trouble with that is there is no reconciling the two.

Major Problems with Evolution:

There is no evidence for evolution in the fossil record
There is no evidence for evolution in the present (it is not taking place today)
There is no working theory of how evolution takes place
There is no viable explanation in evolution of the origin of life
There is no viable explanation in evolution of the beginning of the universe
There is no real evidence from geology

There are many reasons Christians can’t accept anything but a literal belief in the Genesis account of creation, but the number one reason is the question of evil:

Either man’s fall (sin) caused suffering and death

Or

God caused suffering and death

*If you accept Theistic evolution, you must reject Genesis 1, 2, and 3, and since Moses wrote the first 5 books of the Bible, you must reject them as well, since he loses his credibility
*If you accept Theistic evolution, you must reject that Adam and Eve existed.
*If Adam did not exist, that makes others in Scripture who spoke of him liars who are no longer credible. That includes Moses, the apostle Paul, and Jesus Himself.
*If you accept Theistic evolution, you must reject the genealogies of Jesus in the New Testament
*If you accept Theistic evolution, you must reject belief in the inerrancy and infallibility of Scripture

Everyone has a right and free will to believe what they will, but evolution takes faith just as much as or more so than Christianity. The real reason evolutionists won’t give up their beliefs is because they reject the thought of a God Who is to be obeyed. Here are a few quotes from noted evolutionists about their beliefs:

The more one studies paleontology, the more certain one becomes that evolution is based on faith alone” – Professor Louis T. More, evolutionist (The Dogma of Evolutions, page 160)

The known fossil record fails to document a single example of…evolution…” –Steven M Stanley, evolutionist (Macroevolution: Pattern and Process, page 39)

Evolution is accepted “not because it has been observed to occur or can be proved by logically coherent evidence to be true, but because the only alternative – special creation – is clearly incredible.” – Professor D. M. Watson, evolutionist (quoted by D. James Kennedy, Why I Believe)

Evolution is unproved and unprovable. We believe it because the only alternative is special creation which is unthinkable.” – Sir Arthur Keith, evolutionist.

I suppose the reason we leaped at The Origin of the Species was because the idea of God interfered with our sexual mores.” – Sir Julian Huxley, evolutionist.

Many brilliant scientists reject Darwinism. For instance, Paul Lemoine, a former president of the Geological Society of France and director of the Natural History Museum in Paris once said, “The theory of evolution is impossible. At base, in spite of appearances, no one any longer believes in it…Evolution is a kind of dogma which the priests no longer believe, but which they maintain for their people.” The Creation Research Society has over 600 members, most holding advanced science degrees, and all of whom reject Darwinian evolution. The inventor of the MRI, Dr. Raymond Damadian, is an outspoken creationist. So the next time someone tries to tell you that you are uneducated and uninformed to reject evolution, let them know you are in good company with some of the most brilliant minds in the world, including Isaac Newton and Louis Pasteur to name a few.

Are Christian Business Owners Free to Choose?

In Houston, a Christian business owner refused to work for two homosexual men living together as a “couple”. Todd and Sabrina Farber are owners of The Garden Guy, and were recently contacted by a homosexual by the name of Michael Lord about bidding on a job at his home. When the Farbers found out through a phone conversation that Michael was a homosexual living with another homosexual, Gary Lackey, they very graciously declined to do the work because of their convictions about homosexuality. Here is what they said:

Subject: Cancel Appt – Garden Guy
Dear Mr. Lord,
I am appreciative of your time on the phone today and glad you contacted us. I need to tell you that we cannot meet with you because we choose not to work for homosexuals.
Best of luck in finding someone else to fill your landscaping needs.
All my best,
Sabrina
Todd and Sabrina Farber
Owners, Garden Guy, Inc.

Since the Farbers are very *open and up front about their faith and their stand against sin, I seriously suspect this whole episode was a set up by radical homosexual activists to try to force their lifestyle and acceptance of it on yet another outspoken Christian. (Ever noticed how homosexuals are allowed to be outspoken about their beliefs, but Christians are not?)

*From the text listed below the Farber’s Photo in their advertisement:

The God-ordained institution of marriage is under attack in courts across the nation, and your help is needed.
Go to: www.nogaymarriage.com to take action.
Ephesians 5:8 (Amplified Bible)
... For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light and lead the lives of those native-born to the Light.

I truly believe, in spite of Lackey and Lord’s threats of boycott, that God will bless the Farbers like never before because they stood up for their faith. If I lived in Houston, I’d be looking for a project around my house that needs a really good Christian landscaper…

More Student Newspaper Trash

It seems my local university is not the only one having problems with its student newspaper. The University of Southern Mississippi’s student newspaper The Student Printz is causing problems. Many in the community are questioning why the Administrators of the University aren’t doing something about the “Pillow Talk” column that is appearing in the weekly publication. Last month a “how to” article on oral sex caused some to call for the firing of staff members and others to criticize USM president Shelby Thames for doing little more than publicly condemn the content of the article.

I had a personal talk with the Executive Assistant to the President of our local University earlier this week about our own trashy student paper. He genuinely seemd disgusted about the article. He had not seen it personally and was going to get a copy of it to read for himself and see if there was anything that the University could really do. It seems that accreditation can be pulled if a University is deemed “too controlling” over its student newspapers. Seems First Amendment rights apply the same as they do to publications not associated with Institutes of Higher Learning. I have a hard time with that one, but then I’m not an attorney either. I know that there are standards of decency and laws against certain elicit publications in every community. Why wouldn’t this type of publication fall under such laws?

The paper's editor promises that the Pillow Talk column "will probably get racier by degrees each edition."

Since most student papers like this are distributed free of charge, and depend upon advertising dollars, I suggest that students, faculty and community leaders use their First Amendment rights to contact the advertisers and tell them they will not do business with them as long as they support this type of degenerate publication. Money talks, as the saying goes.

Institutes of Higher Learning?

Our colleges and universities continue to plunge their students deeper into the pit of secular humanism, narcissism and immorality.

There was a time when a university student newspaper was a showcase for the cream-of-the-crop in ideology, literary excellence and positive influence in the community. Those days are over if the recent issue of our local university's student newspaper is any indication.

In a recent issue of the student newspaper, the “Ask Ms. Nose-it-All” column read more like a low class tabloid than a publication representative of an institute of higher learning.

A student in one of the dorms wrote about the uncomfortable situation her roommate was placing her in by having sexual encounters late at night in a bed which was only six feet away from her own. The writer said she did not believe in sex before marriage, which compounded her embarrassment, yet she was hesitant to say anything about it, probably because of peer pressure. The advice guru, Ms. Nose-it-All proceeded to demonstrate her total lack of couth and intelligence by first accusing the writer of being jealous, then moving on to calling her a “hater” and suggesting she get her own partners. She showed a total lack of command of the English language with numerous grammatical errors, misuse of words, and a vocabulary unsuitable for print here. I understand that there is an adult advisor for this publication and wonder seriously if he was not on vacation that particular week. In addition, a disclaimer at the end of the column in no way excuses this type of trash coming from a school that seeks support from this community.

Here is an excerpt(I have omitted the inappropriate words - any mispellings, grammatical errors, or misuse of words is just as it was written):

One of the most important things to realize is that you must not, under any circumstances, refer to your roommate as a &#%$%, *!&$^%, skeezer, or back burner. These type of comments may land you in an emergency room. I wonder if these discretions are happening within the speed of light or if you've been bitten by a "little green monster".
Ask yourself the following questions: Is your roommates getting "busy" with someone you've either: a) been intimate with or b)want to be intimate with.
If the answer to the previous question is yes or maybe so, then chances are, you're just being a "hater" and you should find yourself a "boo"
.

A few other noteworthy quotes as well (again - grammar and spelling is hers, not mine):

Next time she has a "friend" over bumpin' and grindin,' get up and go to the bathroom, or turn on the televison.

If these tactics don't work, go to your resident assistant and request a room change because you cant spend your semester living with a trifling "hoochie mama."

Christian parents should seriously consider whether or not they want to send their kids to a secular university or college. The truth is, this type of column in our university's student paper is only symptomatic of the greater problems going on in campuses all across America.

The Lie that is Calvinism - Part 3

For review:
The Lie that is Calvinism - Part 1
The Lie that is Calvinism - Part 2

Now for Part 3:

The whole doctrine of Calvinism is based on a misunderstanding of the sovereignty of God. Calvinism, it an effort to proclaim and doctrinally protect God’s sovereignty, ignores the fundamental truth of free will in man, and in the process, succeeds in marring the very character of God. God is a holy and perfect God, incapable of sin or error.

I have had Calvinists tell me that man does have free will, but because of the doctrine of Total Depravity, man can only choose to reject God. So how can man have free will if only one choice can be made, and that choice was decreed by God in eternity past? That puts God in a position of decreeing evil. And if the choice of man is to reject God, and God did not decree it, then that choice is as much a challenge to God’s sovereignty as the choice to accept God. Either man has free will, or God is the author of sin.

The truth is that God is sovereign and man has free will. And as difficult as that is to the finite human mind, it is no more difficult than the truth of the Trinity of God, and is just as true.

"For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe." I Timothy 4:10

Rowan Williams - Right Conclusion, Wrong Book

I few days ago I posted Scripture Accused of Promoting Domestic Violence.

I thought about that post again today as I read this.

In Amman Jordan, a 26 year old Muslim male has been charged with premeditated murder of his 22 year old sister. He beat her, strangled her to death, and then set her body on fire to hide the evidence. This was to protect the “family honour” due to the discovery that she was no longer a virgin. Police say there are indications that other family members were also involved.

Her loss of virginity was enough of a dishonor to the family that she needed to be brutally murdered. Then he hides the evidence. Why? Is murdering your sister a bad thing? Surely not, if it is for the sake of your family’s honor. Fornication is a disgrace, but surely murder is not.

Maybe only women are capable of bringing dishonor to their families. When was the last time you heard of a male Muslim being beaten, strangled to death, and burned because it was discovered that HE was no longer a virgin? I certainly don’t recall any instances like that.

Where was the loving father, the forgiving sibling? Where was the outreached hand, bringing her back into the family for reconciliation. Why only condemnation, anger, and hate?

Could it be because the God of Islam is a condemning, angry, hateful god? I think the Archbishop may be on to something…I think he just named the wrong book by mistake. Instead of a Bible, I think he must have been referring to the Quran.

Islam. The religion of peace.

Defending the Faith

I have often called for true Christians to come out of the denominations that have fallen into apostasy. And yet, I have come across men and women who have decided not to run, but to stay and fight for the faith. Neil is such a man, and I'm impressed daily with his wisdom, his determination, and his passion to spread the truth - even among those around him who have fallen away. He is being given an opportunity to preach this weekend and will be bringing a message that will no doubt be offensive to some there within his church. Read this, and then pray for this man, that God will annoint him for the message and that God's Word will convict hearts with the truth.Leave him a comment and tell him you are praying for him.
Neil, I'm praying for you.

Romans 10:14-15: "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"

Superficial vs Real Love

I needed a good laugh today and I wasn’t disappointed.

Here is an excerpt from an article on World News network’s website.

Her devotees include film stars, US senators and world leaders who come from far and wide to be hugged by the smiling Indian lady known simply as Amma. Yesterday, the spiritual leader who has spent three decades embracing her followers, swapped A-listers for the ordinary British public at the less than glittering venue of the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. Many of the strangers who fell into the welcoming arms of the high priestess of hugs, whose mission is to offer her "unconditional love" to the world, were moved to tears or laughter during her three-day mission.

Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, or “Mother” or “Amma” as she is better known, has supposedly hugged some 25 million people in her lifetime and that has made her a “spiritual leader” in the world, admired by world leaders, US senators and movie stars alike. Her mission: to offer her “unconditional love” to the world.

Anybody have a calculator? This woman, according to this report, has been hugging people for 3 decades. We’re supposed to believe she has hugged 25 million people.
So let’s say she’s been hugging people around the world for a full 30 years. Multiply that by 365 days and you get 10,950 days of hugging. Now divide that into 25 million. What did your calculation get? Mine got 2283. That means she hugs an average of 2,283 people a day.

Right. And my blog gets 2,283 visitors a day. LOL

Now for the serious side. People are moved by her unconditional love? For a serious look at love, I invite them to take a look at the cross of Calvary. That, my friend, is unconditional love.

Romans 5:8: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Territory vs Social Injustice

I read a very profound statement today at the end of this article.

The statement read: “The war in France is not about social injustice, but about territory.”

This article discusses the violence and unrest going on in France in the predominantly Muslim areas. It explains that though their parents came to France, knowing that it was a non-Muslim country, these youths were born here, and they consider France THEIR country and THEIR territory – and France is enveloped in none other than a civil war. An average of 14 police officers are injured each day. The government is being asked to provide police with armoured vehicles as part of their protection. The police are fighting Molotov cocktails, rock throwing, mob attacks on officers, burning vehicles and total chaos. And the media gives the situation an occasional passing reference.

Islam – the peaceful religion.

The world is not waking up to reality even yet. It’s almost incomprehensible that there are still people who refuse to equate Islam with violence, claiming that the extremists are few and don’t speak for the majority of Muslims. But the truth is, the Islamic war on the rest of the world is NOT about social injustice. It IS about territory – and Muslims see the world as their territory – as Allah’s territory – and they won’t stop until the deed is in their hands and the rest of the world's population is either in bondage, converted, or dead.

Doctrine of Salvation - Two Extremes

A prostitute picks up a newspaper one day and sees an ad that interests her. A very rich man is looking for a wife. He wants to shower her with love and gifts and make all her dreams come true. The prostitute decides to answer the ad. Now this woman has slept with so many men she can’t remember them all. She’s a heavy drinker and she likes to get high on coke. She loves to gamble. She figures she’d like to have some of this rich man’s money for herself. She meets with the man and tells him that she’d like to marry him, but she has no intention of giving up her lifestyle. She says she likes sleeping with other men, and she likes to party and she’s never going to love him. What do you think he’s going to tell her?

Pretty ridiculous scenario.

But there is a false doctrine out there that says that an unrepentant sinner can get saved; that repentance is not necessary for salvation. This doctrine teaches that anyone who believes in Jesus for their salvation will be saved. Doesn’t matter if they understand who Jesus is, or why they need salvation, or if they are sorry for and have remorse over their sins and are willing to repent of them and ask forgiveness.

A sinner who hears that believing in Jesus will save them from going to hell, but who could care less about Jesus and who has no intention of asking forgiveness for their sins, or who has no intention of giving up their sin, but is just looking for “fire insurance”, is not going to get saved in that condition. (James 2:19; Mark 3:11) There has to be an understanding of their sinful nature and their need for a Savior, along with a repentant heart and humble approach to Christ in receiving salvation. (James 4:6)

Am I saying that they have to DO anything in their repentance? No. Do they have to turn over a new leaf and get right first before they come to Jesus? No. Do they have to start going to church and doing good deeds before they come to Christ? No. What I am saying is that they have to come humbly before Jesus and repent of their sins, trusting in Him and what He did on the cross to save them. We’re saved by grace through faith, not works. Faith and repentance are not works – they are a decision of the will.

The Greek word for repent is matanoeo, which means to change one’s mind, to turn from something and toward something. Jesus expects us to turn from our sin and toward Him in faith for our salvation. Without repentance, there will be no rebirth, and you must be reborn or you are not saved. (John 3:3,7;1 Peter 1:23) Jesus Himself said, “…repent ye, and believe the gospel.”(Mark 1:15). When he sent his disciples out, they were to preach the gospel and repentance (Mark 6:12). Repentance and faith go hand in hand throughout Scripture (Ezekiel 14:6; Ezekiel 18:30; Psalm 32:5)

Unfortunately, in many churches across America, people are being dealt a counterfeit salvation. They’ve walked an aisle and said a prayer, and asked Jesus into their heart. But there was no realization of their sinful nature or their need for a Savior. There was no repentance. There was no re-birth. There was no regeneration. And there was no salvation. They are still lost in their sin, living their lives basically no differently than before. There is no fruit, and there is no clue that they are still on their way to hell.(James 2:14)

Calvinism, in an effort to “protect” God’s sovereignty, claims wrongly that God chooses some to go to heaven and some to go to hell.

This second doctrine, in an effort to combat the false teaching of Calvinism, teaches wrongly that God will save an unrepentant sinner. Not so. “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:” (Psalm 66:18) “…God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”(James 4:6)

I believe Scripture teaches that both extremes are wrong.

Scipture References:

James 2:19: “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”

Mark 3:11: “And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.”

James 4:6: “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

Scripture Accused of Promoting Domestic Violence

When I read what some self-professed men of God say about Scripture I have to wonder if they ever actually spend any time in it.

Archbishop Rowan Williams has been out in left field for a long time, so I really don’t know why I let what he says bother me. I guess it’s because lost people read the same stuff – and he’s a stumbling block.

So now “Viewing God as male ‘contributes to domestic abuse’. The Church of England report “claims viewing God in masculine terms can validate "overbearing and ultimately violent patterns of behavior" in intimate relationships and "contributes to domestic abuse,"

God describes Himself as male, so that’s the only true view of God that one can have. God is not a goddess. As for suggesting that scripture advocates domestic violence, there is absolutely no basis in fact for that suggestion whatsoever. In fact, Scripture promotes the exact opposite. (Perhaps they are confusing the Quran with the Holy Bible.)

God’s will for Christian men is a high calling. They are to be spiritual leaders. They are to be providers for their families. They are to love their wives as Christ loved the church. They are to love and stay married to the wife of their youth. Men are commanded to love their wives. Interestingly, wives are not commanded to love their husbands, but are commanded to submit to their husband’s leadership and spiritual authority. Feminists hate the word “submission”, especially in relation to husbands, but they don’t know what they’re missing. I'm married to a very fine Christian man who prays daily for God’s guidance and takes his role as spiritual leader very seriously. I gladly submit to his authority, because in submitting to my husband, I am submitting to my Lord Jesus Christ. And I am rewarded for doing so in more ways that I can count.

Domestic abuse is condemned in Scripture. Williams and his ilk need to start a new religion. Christianity is not their forte’.

Scripture references:

Ephesians 5:22 "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord."

Ephesians 5:25: "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;"

Colossians 3:19 "Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them."

1 Peter 3:1 "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;"

1 Peter 3:7 "Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered."

Proverbs 5:18 "Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth."

Nothing slanted about THIS poll....NOT!

Ok guys. I need your help with this one.

The liberal Canadian paper, Canoe News, ran a poll today:

Six young Amish girls are shot in the head by a man with a 20-year grudge. You wish
___that guns were restricted.
___that schools had better security.
___that men could solve problems without violence.
___that Americans would accept their society has many unaddressed problems.
___that you were living on another planet.

A few really stupid choices, I’d say. I’d like to add a new list of choices for the same question….I’ve put down two, and invite readers to add their own to it…

Six young Amish girls are shot in the head by a man with a 20-year grudge. You wish
_____that somebody at the school had had a concealed carry permit so they could have
put this guy out of his misery before he hurt anyone
_____that the liberal news media wouldn’t use tragedies like this one to further
their agendas

Anxiously awaiting your feedback.

Hiding Homosexuality behind the Pedophilia Label

Up front I want to say that homosexuality is a sin and a sexual deviation. I think what Mark Foley did was wrong. But this Foley thing is really more about politics than anything else. Foley is a homosexual. That is his perversion. He was not going after 8 year olds. He was flirting with teenage boys. In the state of Florida, a 16 year old can get married with parental consent.

Most sixteen year old young men in this day and age and culture are not children. And Foley is very unlikely a pedophile. He is a homosexual. But the Pedophilia label had to be applied to him - otherwise, what could the Dems say? Nothing!

You can’t have it both ways. If homosexuality is “natural” as the gay activists would have us believe, then what is his crime? The Democrats’ hypocrisy is offensive to the point of being sickening. On the one hand, they are courting the gay vote and supporting gay marriage. On the other hand, they’re calling for investigations and prosecution against Foley. If he was a Democrat, they’d be silent as a lamb.

Barney Frank himself said that it is unacceptable to out a closeted gay person, unless that person uses their power or notoriety to hurt gay people. Gays hate the Republican Party. Foley is a Republican.

Food for thought.

Postscript:

Foley needed to resign. Foley needs help. Foley needs the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.

Politics really is a dirty business.

After the Foley Resignation(Democratic American Values)

Jessica Santillo, spokeswoman for Foley's Democratic opponent Tim Mahoney, said Foley's resignation would not change her boss' strategy and Mahoney will not make Foley's problems an issue. She is quoted as saying, "Before, we were running a strong race, and we will continue to run a strong race. Mr. Mahoney, from the beginning, has run to restore American values to Washington."

I wonder…is Santillo referring to the values of Reagan and Bush, or of Clinton? Since Clinton was the last Democrat in the White House, I would assume she is referring to his values. Values like :

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court*

Or maybe she is referring to the values of Congressmen like Ted (Chappaquiddick) Kennedy or Barney (it’s my apartment and I’ll pimp if I want to) Frank, or William (cold cash) Jefferson? While Republicans have condemned the actions of Foley and distanced themselves from him, the Democrats continue to embrace the Kennedys, Franks, and Jeffersons of their party.

Don’t think she and I see eye to eye on what “American values” means.

Here’s another good post on the subject over at “Important Stuff – or Not”, called “Intolerant Republicans
